Re: Lions' receivers

The way I see it, in the event of an injury to McInnes or Cottoy, the Leos could go with an American there rather than trying to scramble to find another National off the scrap heap. This is how I could see us starting the season with Nationals: 3 oline: Knevel, Couture, Chungh 2 receivers: Cottoy,...

Re: Lions' receivers

The Lions din’t need another receiver. They may lack experience but they have as much depth as I’ve ever seen. Rookies are making plays all over the field.

Re: Training camp 2024

The Lions debuted a new-look FanFest featuring three separate events on Saturday, Play with the Pros for kids in the morning, a scrimmage at Hillside Stadium in the afternoon and a downtown block party with food, games, vendor booths, entertainment and player autographs in the evening. Previously al...

Ok Re: Training camp 2024

Terrell was brought in after another RB who was supposed to be Stanback’s roommate unexpectedly left town during mini-camp. Mizzell is still clearly number 2 but the four RBs in camp all bring different qualities. Stanback, the heaviest at 233 lbs., is a versatile mix of power and speed, Mizzell is ...

Re: Training camp 2024

Suprised to read Cottoy seeing few balls thrown his way on a daily basis. Wonder why VA's and others reads are ignoring him so much? They are certainly paying him to have an even bigger role this coming season. This is not unusual for training camp and the early season. The Lions, so far at least, s...

Re: Training camp 2024

Matt Baker’s video recap of Friday practice focuses on Travis Fulgham, the depth at linebacker and the kickers, particularly Sean Whyte.

Re: Training camp 2024

I know it's very early, but any first or second year Leos standing out to you and Hambone, B.C.FAN? From the sounds of it, the following are getting noticed: Travis Fulgham Ayden Eberhardt Ronald Kent Jr. Dakota Prukop Charlie Ringland Cristophe Beaulieu? Carl Meyer? Of course, it's harder to asses...

Re: Training camp 2024

Will BC keep all 4 QBs as last year? I'd assume Dolegala and Prukop are locks on spots. Will BC with 3 QBs have Prokup do short yardage as he did with the Bombers. Not aware of Chase Brice much as IIRC he didn't play in a game last year so is he under a sophomore challenge of show progress or be re...

Re: Training camp 2024

The Lion offence was hot on a chilly Friday morning in Kamloops. Quarterbacks were hitting targets all over the field against an injury-depleted defence. Travis Fulgham caught several passes from Vernon Adams, including a deep corner route against Adrian Greene and a deep post pattern. Alex Hollins ...

Re: Training camp 2024

On the defensive line, Marcus Moore continued to take first-team reps for Christian Covington (tendonitis). Thanks, as usual, for the great report, B.C.FAN. Was this a typo? I was under the impression that Covington tweaked a hamstring. I thought only Sayles had tendonitis, but perhaps that changed...

Re: Training camp 2024

Great TC insights and information here. Evaluating overall offensive production in practices is never easy as the DEF gets pretty comfortable in knowing the OFF plays and pass routes. I don't expect to be seeing posts on specific run plays this comment that divulges nothing hopefully isn't a sign t...

Re: Training camp 2024

The list of walking wounded at training camp grew Thursday, and forced some more shuffling in the secondary already depleted by the short-term absence of Marcus Sayles (tendonitis) and the longer-term absence of T.J. Lee (Achilles). National DB Patrice Rene did some light stretching on the sideline ...

Re: Training camp 2024

Matt Baker and Bob Marjanovich did a nice video recap on bclions.com after Wednesday’s practice, focusing on some newly acquired Lions and changes in the secondary. Christian Covington is reportedly dealing with “a bit of a hamstring tweak.”

Re: Training camp 2024

Players were in pads for a second straight day Wednesday, and the offence looked much sharper than it did Tuesday, at least through the air. The defence stopped just about everything that William Stanback and Taquan Mizell tried to run up the middle. There were no changes to the first team offence o...
