Great list, Robbie. I'm happy to say I've seen all of them play, and they are all worthy of induction on the Wall of Fame. I'm sorry that such recognition didn't come soon enough for Ekdahl. It seems that Bret Anderson is the leader among current Lions in longevity. I hope he adds many more games to...

The Lions have had a lot of low points on the field. The ones in the 1990s were brief. If you want a real low point, I'd vote for the 12 seasons between 1965 and 1976 when the team didn't have a winning record once. The Lions managed to sneak into the playoffs just three times in that span, losing e...

Great post. I've attended a lot of games over the past 40 years but I don't have your memory for the details.

The TSN broadcast is far better than the CBC broadcast of the Argo/Rider game last night. The video quality looked like it was from 1980. The production crew must have been on drugs. While everyone was lining up on scrimmage, they honed in on one Argo for the whole time for no particular reason. Th...

Injuries are part of the game. Odds are that one or more starters will suffer a serious injury each year. Good teams have to overcome them and find a way to win. The Lions have one win already. Hopefully JC will be back and healthy in about a month's time to help them keep winning.

Great pix, Solar. How about a report from some of the participants? What did you learn? Which players were the best instructors? Was it fun?

You're young enough to take up the sport yourself. There's no better way to learn.

The Olympics are a one-shot deal. They'll give Vancouver a place in history and the attention of people in northern climes around the world for a few weeks in 2010, but that fame is fleeting. How often do you hear these days of Nagano, Lillehammer, Sapporo, Albertville, Innsbruck or Grenoble, and ho...

No to the Olympics, but I'd love to see a World Cup-style gridiron tournament every four years if a handful of countries are interested in participating.

It looks like ESPN removed the poll and accompanying map from its home page. The results are posted on its Super Bowl page: Which team will win Super Bowl XL? Pittsburgh Steelers 64% Seattle Seahawks 36% Total votes: 89,148 The Steelers were the favourite in every U.S. state except Washington, Orego...

There's a similar poll at espn.com, which has a map showing each team's support by region. The Seahawks have absolutely no respect outside of the Northwest. If I were a betting man, I'd put some money on the Seahawks, especially with a spread of 3 or 3.5 points.
