Re: Should CFL teams retire numbers of stars?

If there's going to be an 11th player added to the Ring of Honour, it will likely be: #14 - Travis Lulay - 2009-2018 Given his relatively long tenure and the fact that he didn't play for any other CFL team. Definitely. I would also suggest #64 - Angus Reid They haven't had a consistent and reliable...

A correction in my claim there are 100 numbers to choose from for football. There's actually 101 as you can have 0 and 00 plus 1-99. Read that after I posted the number.
Except, unless I'm mistaken, current league rules allow a team to have a 0 or a 00 but not both at the same time.

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents

Interesting what will happen with Streveler. If he comes back north he probably is looking for the shortest path to competing for starter. Most seem to think Winnipeg is the most likely destination. However Collaros still has 2 more years on his deal. There won't an opening for a starter in Winnipe...

A team in Saskatoon might make the Riders think about putting a winning team on the field.
You mean like the old line about how they can't put an NHL team in Hamilton because then Toronto would want one too? :rotf:

Re: Dane Evans Retires

Interesting that Evans wants to coach. Guys who are backup QBs for most of their career are like coaches in training. Observing from the sidelines and being privy to the play calling is great preparation for coaching. Current prominent examples of backup QB to successful HC in a short period of tim...

Re: CFL Coaching & GM Changes for 2024

Lapo has proven to be a far better HC on the TSN panel than on the sidelines. His 22-50-0 career record for a .306 winning percentage speaks volumes. Then consider nearly half those wins came back in 2011 when the Bombers went 10-8 and made it the the Grey Cup. Take that season out of the equation ...

I hope the Lions coaching staff was watching Caleb Evans and Dakota Prukop on their short yardage plays in this game.

Re: CFL Awards 2023

The CFL did a good thing in naming the MOP AWARD the George Reed MOP Award. His well-spoken daughter was there and got a nice opening thank you from Chad Kelly the first winner. For years I couldn't get over the loss of the Schenley sponsorship for CFL awards even though as a 12 year old who knew i...

They may yet take the bulk of the awards, but Kelly has handed MOP to Brady Oliveira on a silver platter.

Re: Argos vs Als

A big buildup to an important game, selling lots of tickets in anticipation of a big win, and falling flat. Where have we heard that before? A couple of weeks ago in argofans someone posted about whether this year's Argos could be the best CFL team ever. He was appropriately shot down, but as soon a...

Since when is a timecount violation a 10 yard penalty? Or is this just another example of how bad Andre Prioux is?
Inside the three minute warning, it's a loss of down on First or Second and ten yards on Third.
