Re: 2022 Free Agents - BC Targets - Top 5
I’d be really curious to see the breakdown on Lawlers offer. Farhan suggested it was a multi year deal with the first year paying 250k. Is every year 250 or is it extremely front end loaded? If it’s the later, this may be a shrewd move by the lions. Burn the extra cash this year in exchange for 2 mo...

Re: How to fix this mess?
I sent new owner a friendly ‘welcome to the den’ email, got nothing back. Anyone else? Pretty much on par with this organization. Emailed them prior to the first game about the digital tickets. Never heard back. Emailed fanservices about my not receiving my plastic bag. Never heard back. Emailed by...

Re: Bo Levi Mitchell takes $95,000 pay cut
Complicated question.... on one hand, Reilly has been a warrior and signed his contract in good faith based on what the market was at the time...remember that there were at least 3 other teams - Edmonton, Saskatchewan and Toronto - who were reportedly offfering similar money to him. On the other han...

Re: Games of Week 2, June 21 to June 23, 2018
While they may be a ways away yet, that Montreal team that came to BC last week is not the same team as the one that finished last season... they may actually surprise some people this season. They are well coached defensively and have weapons scattered throughout the roster. Stubler will keep them ...

Re: Pending Lions free agents
I am actually quite surprised by Dunk's analysis as it pertains to the Lions. To me, Hervey has done a good job of addressing areas that were underperforming. Yes, the re-allocation of resources has caused some uneasy decisions, but that is often the price of doing business and, at the end of all of...

Re: Pending Lions free agents
I agree, Blitz- on most counts. I would also add Benson as a priority. Long snappers are really under appreciated and critical aspects of the team. Good ones are hard to find and rarely noticed... bad ones, well, you see them pretty fast. Benson is a very good long snapper and gets downfield in cove...

Re: QB, now what?
Farhan Lalji is reporting the Lions are expected to bring in Mitchell Gale - most lately of the Calgary Stampeders, but played for Sask last year.
Lalji is also reporting another QB and and OL will also be added to camp.

Re: QB, now what?
One area Lion fans haven't had to concern themselves with in the Wally era has been QB. I criticize Wally for many things, but finding QB talent isn't one of them. To me Ross looks to have potential as well, so don't expect Wally will go for a CFL castoff. Better to find and groom a third stringer ...

Re: QB, now what?
I am curious what Johnathan Crompton is up to these days. He has a good deal of CFL experience and is a gritty QB who seems to find ways to win. His experience as a starter and backup may be valuable and he might make for a nice #2 option behind Jennings. My last recollection is that he was released...

Re: Free Agent Signings
I'm curious... I wonder if Fraser can play that nickel spot. He certainly has the size and mentality. I love his downhill style and he has some great range. If the lions were able to move him into that nickel spot, Edem to safety, Lokombo to LB, it might help the ratio. Then there can be some tinker...

Here's a name I wonder about for special teams... Carl Kidd. One of my favourite all time lions and a guy who bled orange. I remember him as a guest coach at a few tcs and thought I heard he was coaching down south... Just another dream....

Re: Free Agency- Unique year for BC Lions- Be GM for a Minut
I love these topics as it is always fun to speculate. Of course, things are about a certain as a small lead is safe during a CFL season, but, for what it is worth, here are a few thoughts. Offence: I actually think the lions are in good shape at receiver, even with the possible departures of Arsenau...

Re: Lions and League Free Agents?
So if we look outside the organization, who do you bring in?[/quote] My immediate thought would be current Ti-Cat Dan LeFevor providing he is healthy again. He is a young, mobile QB who would seem to fit into the Lions Offence. He showed flashes of brilliance and has some CFL experience - there was ...

"revolving door" ... 11th international trying out for left tackle this year ... Says as much about the recruiting/evaluating going back to tryout camps, the judgments made during training camp, the system, the coaching and the management of this group, as it does about those sent ...

Re: CFL Coaches -- Benny and his Staff
I would like to make what I think might be an unpopular suggestion here.... Let me begin with the statement that Bene's sideline demeanour is not at all how I would approach things, but I am also more than willing to suggest that everyone has a different style and, if the lions were 3-0 at this poin...
