Re: 2021 season

https://www.straight.com/covid-19-pandemic/living/covid-19-in-bc-dr-bonnie-henry-raises-hopes-of-outdoor-events-of-hundreds-and-urges-pregnant I heard this response in the COVID 19 briefing Q&A on Monday. Barring some dramatic changes in counts and vaccination rates, sounds like there is unlike...

Re: 2021 CFL draft

Tack on early priority UDFA signings and the top 7 players in the final CFL Scouting Bureau rankings plus #16 ranked Labelle are now drafted or signed to NFL deals.

Re: 2021 CFL draft

i saw that Holland went early 2nd round. and Palmer went in the 3rd round. only reason i know Palmer went there (77th i believe) is because Mel Kiper didn't like the pick. but didn't notice other canadian names............ that DT from Central Michigan doesn't seem to have much NFL interest. a bit ...

Re: 2021 CFL draft

draft projections on Chuba Hubbard much more pessimistic than i thought, and i think more pessimistic than 6 months ago. apparently, didn't do much pass blocking (or wasn't good at it?) or pass catching at OkSU......... such a trade-off on college choice..... go to team where you get alot of carrie...

Re: 2021 season

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-astrazeneca-covid-19-age-limit-coquitlam-1.6004991 This shows there is still plenty of desire to get the vaccine--long lineups--even if it is the AZ vaccine. The concern will be what happens if they hit a wall in uptake at some point (people who ca...

Re: 2021 CFL draft

This is shaspingbup tpo be a very competitive camp. Everywhere thgey look they are finding interesting talent. I expect one of the international players to make the roster and the canadian draft quality looks alkso promissing and a lot of other signing look good also. Not one, but two of the global...

Re: 2021 season

The August start with limited fans seems very realistic. Almost surreal watching the Aussie Rules game on TSN this morning with 60,000 fans and not a mask in sight. Had no idea Australia is essentially COVID free. Limited attendance now for pro sports in California. Population 40 million with 28 mi...

Sad, but realistic - as I'm sure the season ticket base has dwindled to next to nothing.
I started getting STs again in 2011. I wonder if I make the cut?

Re: Lions in the local media (REVIVED thread 6-10-20)

Really enjoying 650.. like it much better than 1040..... heard a million times more relevant Canucks info from the talk show hosts than at 1040. 1040 is more like sports-themed radio personality am/pm drive type content. not sure why I had never tried 650 before.. I was away from VCR for awhile so ...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

I choose not to get worked up over speculation about the CFL/XFL talks. It's filled with conspiracy theories about secret deals to fully merge the two leagues and play a spring season of four-down football on smaller fields with XFL kicking rules and no Canadian ratio, all in the interest of gettin...

Re: Global Draft

10 out of 36 players chosen were kickers or punters. I've lost track of what the roster requirements are but if the globals are in addition to the 21 NATS, 20 Americans and 3 QBs then we may be seeing teams looking at Globals to handle kicking chores to free up spots for NAT and American positional ...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

On a positive on Saturday the registration window opened for my age group 60-64. I quickly and very easily registered thru the government website. Today I received the text advising I can now book and am scheduled for my 1st shot on April 29th up in FSJohn.

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

I will be surprised if the Winnipeg Ice are in existence in 5 years but good luck to them too. It is somewhat interesting what they are doing there. The ICE were playing at the arena at the U of M. They were scheduled to be moving into a new 4000 seat arena under construction at The Rink Training C...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

Many recently laid off TSN employees might beg to differ. When they have no competition they can do as they please. The layoffs were to improve efficiency and profitability. Nothing to do with staving off bankruptcy. Same idea as cutting salaries by 20%. They want more is the bottom line. Did the s...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

CFL asking for another 20% from the players to start the season on time seems like a bit too much imo and not sure why they are not going back to TSN and asking for increased revenue seeing that many will be watching from home. I suppose that would depend on the charity of the advertisers who buy t...
