Re: Lions' receivers

Now if I were President, I would have brought Lucky back on a one year deal. It wouldn't have been big bucks compared to Hollins and Hatcher and he is not the one with the torn achilles. I'm being controversial but perhaps signing Hatcher may have been a bit sentimental and hopeful when at the time...

Re: Lions cuts

Lots of changes in the secondary with Lee out, Mauger and Sayles cut, Edwards-Cooper gone. I thought they were pretty strong last year so it is surprising to see so much turnover. I have lots of confidence in Phillips to make these decisions, but it might take some time for things to settle and gel...

Re: Concert Kick-Off for June 15 opener to be announced Monday!

Quick look this morning and there's about 25 very scattered single seats available in the lower bowl. There might be 300 seats available in the far end from the stage from 450 around to 404. Then it's scattered singles from 405 to 421 and 435 to 449. First 10 rows from 422 to 434 are pretty much gon...

Re: Lions cuts

Couture has been limited in camp, and Packer has moved up the depth chart to split first-team reps with him, even on Friday when Couture started the game. I'm not sure what is ailing him, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Couture start the season on the injured list, with Packer starting at centre...

Re: Lions cuts

Didn’t see an all-rookie field side of the secondary with Kent and Perryman but it puts the Lions in a better situation from a salary cap perspective especially if Lee returns at some point. Just a little surprising to see a somewhat bold move in a Grey Cup hosting year. Just splitting hairs but it...

Re: Lions cuts

Still a bit of a log jam in some position groups. After taking the existing roster and parsing out Catchings & Chen who were cut a few days ago, those released and those added to the PR I come up with 50 names left on the active roster. There still is an overabundance of OL listed with 9 and DL ...

Re: Lions cuts

Sayles' salary may have contributed. He was set to make $127.8K hard money including $10K already paid in offseason bonus. He was also slated to get an additional $10K for the first game he suited up for to bring value up to $137.8K. He stood to earn another $6K if he earned some all-star awards.

My guess is that we won't learn of any BC Lions transactions until the morning. No one is working on announcements now.

The suspense is killing me.

DH
My thoughts too. Team might blast out a Tweet but might want to wait until CFL HO confirms everything first.

Re: Training camp 2024

I've seen two different takes with one saying 10pm EDT and the other 10pm Local Time. Either way I think those are the deadlines for the cuts with teams likely going through the process of offering PR agreements, which can take time, before making the announcement. It’s 10 local Tks. At this point ...

Re: Edmonton Elks at BC Lions - May 31, 2024 - Pregame Day Thread

Does anyone know why someone was wearing Hatcher’s #4? Could be that with so many players at the start of camp and a fee retired numbers there has to be some duplicates. If Kent makes the team then either he takes a different number or maybe Hatcher is planning on donning a new number when he retur...

But my Rider fan friend told me Lenius was making $165K. That's a bit rich for our blood.

DH
Lenius was at $152K hard money on a re-worked deal for 2023. He didn't crack the 3D list of highest paid receivers for 2024 which cut off with Schaffer-Baker at $165K for #15.

Re: Edmonton Elks at BC Lions - May 31, 2024 - Pregame Day Thread

Interesting. As training camp opened a lot of Rider fans were still miffed that O'Day and Mace chose to keep Fine over Dolegala. Now Fine has lost out to two BC castoffs; Shea Patterson and Antonio Pipkin. Speaking of Rider cuts wonder if the Lions have any interest in Carson Graham grad Brayden Le...

Re: Concert Kick-Off for June 15 opener to be announced Monday!

Yeah I can see the security aspect. Is there a reason why those sections are tarped off normally? Between those tarps is the seating area known as The Den. On the concourse level above The Den is a lounge area that is intended to be accessed by only those holding single game seats or banquet seats ...
