Re: Empire Field Fan Experience Version 2.0
Still haven't been to a game in Tempire and doesn't look like I will get to one at all. Was looking at the Aug 13 game but the prices for 4 tix in the corners is WAAAYYY too high even for me who used to buy Season Tix and miss some of the games. Add to that the pro-scalping stance with the "Tic...

Re: Stampeders @ Lions - Game Day Thread, July 8, 2011
As for analysis, my concern this year is the defence after that first game against the Als. Granted it was AC picking them apart, but if Smilin' Hank is on his 'A' game it can be pretty similar (let's not forget AC was without his #1 target Ben Cahoon). Poor Lulay, had a great game but was too busy...

Re: BC Lions or Vancouver Lions?
I'm usually a HUGE proponent of the Lions making head way into the rest of BC. Heck i'm usually the first off the block to "chastise" them for not living up to the "Pride of ALL BC". However, in this case I cannot fault the BC Lions at all . Would i like to see a doughnut with th...

GAME DAY! Home Opener. and guess what? It's raining cats and dogs. So much for not raining on game days and not needing a roof! oh wait? You mean it doesn't count when it is pouring down rain in Prince George and sunny in Vancouver? Damn. Scream and yell those of you going. I'll be listening on the ...

Re: Honest expansion
The biggest issue may not be with population sizes... You can't have teams without owners. And we've had a heck of a time getting owners to pony up for the teams we have, and this in a sport who's viewership and revenues only seem to be going up and up. We can talk about a 10 team league or a 16 tea...

Re: Lions release two
Combine this with the re-signing of Keron Williams and I'm a little confused. I thought Keron was a disappointment all season but I figured Steve was pretty good in the middle.
Rasouli, I liked him but I also know the oline needs some changes and you can't keep everyone where changes are needed.

I dont know why the goddamn conservatives dont get off their asses and give us a credible 3rd choice. Are you a member of the CPC? You an active member in your local EDA? Do you sign up for the policy meetings, the conventions and the other training and information services the Conservatives put to...

Re: Bud Bowl I and II?
Couldn't we have gotten at least a CDN label? I know Labatt's brews Budweiser and thus it is technically Canadian, but almost everyone knows Budweiser as an AMERICAN beer. And really, it's not even a good beer brewed by Labatt's or even A-B. Heck if we wanted a mediocre beer and we wanted to do it w...

Re: Lions and Whitecaps flip coin
And then there is Mr. and Mrs. I don't really go to games but I am curious to check out the new digs so I'll buy a ticket to the first game in the stadium regardless of who plays. One team or another is going to lose that revenue. And of course there are those people in Vancouver who like to go to s...

Re: 2011 Grey Cup Halftime Show....
I looked up Canadian bands on Wikipedia, how about: Harlequin Sweeney Todd:"Hot child in the city" and "Roxy Roller" that would be great! (Bryan Adams was in this band briefly). Steppenwolf Chilliwack Prism Barney Bentall These would all be good choices. I'm sure I'm missing a b...

Re: 2011 Grey Cup Halftime Show....
BT(-o) wasn't bad. Some of the people at my get together really enjoyed them, others laughed at them, and others just said "let's get back to the game!!". Halftime entertainment be it at the Grey Cup or the Superbowl is really never going to appease everyone. But it is just an added bonus ...

Re: 2 1/2 Yards from Victory
David, Things like pressure are highly subjective and tend to be tough for us to measure. I agree that after that final play, there was pressure on them. However, in my opinion (trying to quantify the unquantifiable), that pressure was reduced with the effluxion of time prior to OT, and the fact th...

Re: 2 1/2 Yards from Victory
[ Going into overtime is also a 50 =-50 chance - why is that not characterized as gambling when it seems to be the same risk, or arguably riskier? I don't think OT is a 50/50 shot. How would you assess the odds in OT, on the road? It can't be much better than 50-50, or else the teams wouldn't be ti...

Nor is it as risky. It's not a 1 play and you are done situation. You still have all the players on the field, and gen...

Re: 2 1/2 Yards from Victory
I'm with David and WCBF on this one. You kick the points for the tie and then move into OT with all your regulars. The problem here as has been eloquently stated above, the defence let us down big time in the end. Who would have thunk it? (Ok I did as over in the CFL live chat I stated at the beginn...
