Re: Lions sign QB Dolegala

Mace is a rookie HC with a rookie OC. He wants his HC career to get off to a good start. No way would he start out by entrusting his own job security in a totally unproven talent like Fine, in the most important position on the field, when he has a seasoned proven veteran like Harris. Risking thing...

Re: NFL road rocky for Rourke after Patriots draft QB

I recall Farhan saying how Rourke’s stock will drop as each NFL Draft passes and more college QBs enter the picture. Hardly a bold statement but last night we saw 6 QBs selected among the top 12 picks . More will be taken over the next couple days and all will be considered greater investments than...

Re: Lions sign QB Dolegala

Many are looking forward to seeing Dolegala throw the ball but I personally don't see him getting a lot of game day reps with V.A. being the starter barring injury. Could be more succession planning at this point with Dolegala being only 27 and Adams 31. I believe Dakota Prukop will be the busier o...

Re: Lions, Bombers and Ti-Cats fined for exceeding salary cap

The important thing is to not go so far over the cap so as to lose a draft pick. I think the threshold is $100k, so a team with a well managed SMS would figure out the theoretical situation in which every player with incentive bonus performance clause maxes out, and then make sure that number does n...

Re: Training camp 2024

When they changed TC practices to more walk throughs than actual hitting and play making, I lost interest in attending as it just seemed more difficult to figure out what was going on. Yes, that's another factor. There are still some padded practices in camp but I don't even try to evaluate line pl...

Re: Lions' receivers

Adding Patmon makes 20 wr on the roster headed for camp give or take a few that may yet be added or sent packing. The anticipation of which one steps into the starting role is already quite intriguing. To think there might be two new faces with little to no tape for teams to study could lend itself...

Training Camp Prospects

Lions sign Jean Delance.

This guys sounds kinda sketchy to me; more like someone Chris Jones would be interested in. He was undrafted by the NFL, so another question mark.

Oh yeah, am going with my wife on our wedding anniversary weekend 🤣. The secret to a happy marriage is to marry a wife who is willing (and wants) to go to Winnipeg for a football game for an anniversary 😉
Sounds like the wife is a keeper.

Re: Rourke now a NE Patriot

I think Rourke is in a bit of a tough spot in NE. The HC that signed him, Belichek, is gone as is the OC. While NE's new OC has worked out Rourke in Cleveland, there really is no one in NE with any sort of commitment or belief in him.

Re: Lions' receivers

Yeah, Claypool has NFL level talent, but from where I sit it appears he does not have pro football maturity. I don't think his ego would allow him to play in the CFL.

Re: Rourke now a NE Patriot

I see where the NFL is considering tweaking their emergency 3rd QB rule so that teams could use a PS player as opposed to having to activate the player to the 53 man active roster to be available for emergency use. The biggest benefit would be that teams wouldn't have to pass the QB back thru waive...

Re: Yikes! Lions 2024 potential free agents

3 Down Nation provide some insight from McElvoy and Campbell on their big free agent offer to Brady Oliveira and how the consolation prize was at least driving up the price for the Bombers. Would have been interesting to see what their roster would look like had he signed here for that price given ...

Re: Lions' receivers

I think the reality of the salary cap with 6 receivers on a roster, at least one and maybe two of the 6 need to be on their 1st contract at a low price minimum $$. In other words Rhymes and Lucky were deemed too expensive.

Re: Dave Ritchie

I agree with Blitz about Mathews and Ritchie having great Defensive minds; arguably the best ever in the CFL. They are both my 2 favourite Lions coaches.
