Re: Alberta drivers

Its just because they dont know where the hell they are going. I went to Van last friday I have no idea how you guys deal with that traffic, it was insane. Man, the worst is the Hope-Princeton highway. On the single-lane curvy parts, they drive 20 km/h, then, when there's a stretch with a passing l...

Re: TSN: CFL unveils new rule changes based on fan suggestions

We are the fans afterall. The only one that I am indifferent to is the FG kickoff, that does eliminate a strategy that is used often in either windy situations or for saving a few seconds on the clock for a last minute drive. I would have allowed the scrimmage option in the last 3-minutes of a half...

Re: Changes/improvements at Lions games?

I am interested in hearing what you would do to make the game day experience at B.C. Lions games even better. It can be just a small change to something radical if needed; I'd just like to learn from others how we can make going to games even more enjoyable (but I'd prefer to read something at leas...

Re: US Election - McCain vs Obama

Also, watch the Senate.

If the Democrats get to 60, they can invoke "cloture" to stop any filibusters.

They're at 52, now.

The Democrats were the key movers behind trying to put tarrifs on softwood lumber, so this could be a worry for us.

Ouch. Normie looked like a cross between Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys and the stereotypical "*"

But I sure do love cocktail weenies! Gotta crash a wedding, now!

Re: 2008 Canadian Federal Election Thread

I agree it is good to let the smaller parties get involved but not sure this current method is functional. I wonder what they do in Israel and Italy. Do they even have a debate? Is is just the PM and the Leader of the Opposition - or do they let in all the party leaders? Given our pasta parliament,...

Re: 2008 Canadian Federal Election Thread

Given the way political parties can spring up will we have these 5 plus the Marxist Lennists etc etc.etc. I agree it is good to let the smaller parties get involved but not sure this current method is functional. Better yet, both the Communists AND the Marxist Lenninists! Now, THERE'S a blood feud....

Re: 2008 Canadian Federal Election Thread

In the Canadian debate, talk about 4 on 1. I found it very frustrating that we have a five way debate, when really only three parties have any hope of winning, and that is being VERY generous to the NDP. The roundtable style doesn't work. It may have been a bit better if one of the non-PM leaders w...

Re: Past CFL Stadiums - Thoughts and Memories

Vancouver's Empire Stadium was demolished in 1993. But was there an actual implosion and was anybody there to see it?
I think with Empire, all they had needed was to undo a couple of retaining bolts and the whole thing came down.

Re: 2008 Canadian Federal Election Thread

whats in it for me There has to be something in it for you? Participating in democracy should be enough. Yes its easy to be cynical about government these days, but apathy only makes things worse. People should be engaged, outraged, outspoken, supportive etc etc etc, but above all, CONNECTED when i...
