Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

As a betting man, I'd say someone like Jim Jordan.

Re: 2023-24 Vancouver Canucks/NHL Season Thread

Maybe the Alan Key Line. Wasn't that an old joke directed at the Sedins? Everything in their country was put together with an alan key.

Re: Thoughts on getting Stanback?

Bottom line is that it isn't the scatback types that are doing the real damage in the running games these days. It is the big bruising backs that like to lay a beating on would be tacklers. Stanback is more of the latter and although injury has slowed him down, it was just a few short seasons ago, h...

Re: 2023-24 Vancouver Canucks/NHL Season Thread

I have to admit, I have kept waiting for the shoe to drop and it doesn't. I'm beginning to think that this may be the best Canucks Team we have ever seen. Not just based on their record but because of how they have been winning these games. I don't think I have ever seen a Canucks team pressure the ...

Re: Should CFL teams retire numbers of stars?

Just honor the player and his number. Retirement is necessary. Same effect and less juggling over time.

Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

Okay, here is hoping that Trump will be ineligible . Frankly, the US has found a permanent residence on Planet Whack for even considering this fool again. I mean what do they want? There economy is doing better, unemployment is down, they are gradually restoring there relationships with NATO. What d...

Re: Russell Wilson - Traded (1.5 years later)

This is probably going to be quoted as one of the most lopsided bad trades ever in the NFL. I actually thought he was going through a bit of a renaissance this season but it appears to be short lived. His benching now is more about him not getting injured before the end of the season. Apparently, th...

Re: 2002 - Bob Ackles returns to Lions

This particular issue is always one that sticks in my craw. Lui had been kicker forever but even in the years before 2000, you had to be thinking that he could hang it up at any time. It seemed like the Lions were wholly unprepared for the time when he actually retired. Our kicking woes continued un...

Re: Rourke now a NE Patriot

It's being reported that the Texan's also tried to claim Rourke off waivers but I guess the Pats had a higher priority. That would seem to bode well for Rourke staying in the NFL for a little while at least.

Re: Rourke now a NE Patriot

Good. He might have a better opportunity on a team that doesn't have a QB that is considered a possible historic talent. I'm not sure honestly if Lawrence is going to live up to expectations. I see the talent but not as certain about the cognitive side

To: Nicgreene19. I echo Toppy's sentiments. I'm very sorry for your loss. Remember that you can choose your own path. Life provides many examples of what to be and what not to be. Your job is to try and figure out what that is for you. As long as you try to be the best version of yourself, you will ...

Re: 2023-24 NFL/Seahawks Season Thread

For all their offensive woes, the Hawks bigger challenges are on Defense. Their secondary isn't particularly suffocating but even more problematic IMO is their front 4 on DLine. They don't have the horses there to put any sustained pressure on opposing QB's. Too often the other team has all day back...
