Re: Braley Wants to Sell Lions

I'm also hopeful that the Lions might get a bit of a shot in the arm (pun intended) after the pandemic is finally under control. People have been sitting at home, doing the isolation thing and when the gates finally open, people may be eager and willing for any and all social pursuits. Maybe this wi...

Re: Ed Hervey leaves Lions for "personal reasons"

I think my disappointment about the Claybroks season was that there was no adjustments made to things that were not working. The offence did not work and Claybrooks did not (or was not allowed by Hervey) make changes. I agree that with the changes in place at the GM position and especially the OC p...

Re: Did Democrats Steal the US Election?

In short, if the evidence for the stealing had been there, it would have been found. The fact that Chump tried to get officials to try and fabricate evidence says it all.

And isn't it just delicious that Trump is bailing on his bills from Giuliani. However will he be able to afford more hair dye.

Re: Ed Hervey leaves Lions for "personal reasons"

Blitz! Long time no see. Glad to see you are still hanging about here and there. I pretty much agree with everything you speculate on the Hervey situation. He may have been an effective player but from a temperament perspective, I have always had my doubts about his abilities as a GM. If he did what...

Re: If Trump was on Lionbackers

Because I would not want to put my sense of civility to the test. I have thought very little of the man since long before he was President. Any place he is going to be is going to attract the kinds of folks I have very little interest in; those that thrive on conflict and disrespect. The only real ...

Re: 2020 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

I think it unlikely that the security gets caught wanting again. Woe to those who are thinking that they will have a chance at a repeat performance. It will be the President Elect that security will be responsible for this time and Biden will have a security detail that won't think too much about sh...

Re: 2020 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

I'll believe he is going to jail when they lock the door. I call this idiot President Teflon for a reason. He has gotten away with BS his whole life and rather than getting punished for his misdeeds, he has ended up in the top job in the most powerful nation in the world with 70 plus million discipl...

Re: 2020 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

Indeed. I will admit to some mild satisfaction that some of the GOP Senators that have been front in centre in enabling Trump appeared to some extent to finally realize just what they have supported for 4 years. Some of them will never be clean of the stain that was created yesterday. People like Te...

Re: why is CFL interest so tepid in toronto?

I haven't read all of this but I would respectfully suggest that we hire the best people available to do the job at any time. I don't know that I care if they are from Canada, the US or outer Mongolia. I also don't care if they are men, women, persons of colour, trans gendered or anything else so lo...

Re: 2020 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

I don't find the article particularly compelling for a number of reasons. Georgia hand re-counted all of the ballots post election night and the tally's varied by only a small number. Kind of blows a hole in the machine counting fixing argument. In many states including 3 of those referenced, mail i...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

I'm thinking that if there is a vaccine in the offing and it now appears that there are least 2 feasible options on that score, the timeline would probably look something like the following. Both the vaccines are in the midst of phase 3 trials. Once those are complete, Health Canada will have to eva...

Re: Post David Braley era - what comes next?

I guess that's an option but it sets up the age old question. Fresh eyes or steady experienced hand? I'm not sure which way I lean on this. I mean, this is about a dire a circumstance that I have ever seen the Lions in and we know that there have been times in the past that have been pretty grim. To...

Re: 2020 U.S. Presidential Election Thread

Sadly it will probably be another highly successful effort to separate hard working (albeit misguided) folks from their $$$. I believe that some of these fundraising efforts have indicated in the fine print (required by law I suppose) that upward of 60% of donations don't go to anything related to f...
