Re: 2021 season

A little off-topic (forgive me), but a really good read that sums up the Covid frustration here in B.C. Yes, I believe we will start the season on Aug. 5, but I am hoping our efforts aren't derailed by another powerful variant. :cr: https://vancouversun.com/opinion/shelley-fralic-sending-out-an-sos-...

Re: 2021 season

Interesting news from Rick LeLacheur (courtesy JJ Adams, Vancouver Sun). "The players have been through an awful lot. And everybody knows that they only get paid in the CFL for the games they play,” he said. “A number of them I know have other jobs, they’re looking at other careers. I’ve seen a...

Re: 94 GC BC Defence

That was a very strong defensive secondary.

Not often that a team wins a championship with so much bickering and in-fighting. Thank God they all became united on game day for the common cause (keeping the Cup in Canada).

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

Depends on the individual. My brother had the Moderna. He reports absolutely no side effects. I think he's talking about the 2nd shot, not the first. In USA, the two shots are within a much tighter window than ours. Farhan reporting tonight that the league expects to play to 25% capacity in most ma...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

https://twitter.com/CFL_News/status/1384912164813684743?s=20 This is classic Ambrosie. Master of the vague, unclear, nebulous plan. Is he not the most wishy-washy Commissioner we've had? Jeffrey Orridge wasn't intentionally vague, he was just clueless. Ambrosie on the other hand loves to baffle us ...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

Thanks for posting that BC 1988. Love listening to Dave. He is "must listen" radio. Bright, articulate, and always speaks the truth. Not afraid to wade into controversial topics either. When asked which CFL rules he'd keep/ditch, he wasn't about to get into 3 downs and the ratio (but I inf...

Awesome. Thank you!! I really miss the days of having so many of our Non-Imports from our own back yard. Gave me an extra reason to cheer.

Re: 2021 CFL free agency

Edmonton has signed former B.C. DE Mat Boesen, who started the first five games of 2019 and led all B.C. defensive linemen in tackles before suffering a knee injury and spending most of the season on the 6-game injured list. Would like to have kept him as he showed good hustle as a rookie as we're ...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

One advantage of having an older fan base is they're more likely to have been vaccinated when the season starts. Whether they are comfortable spending 3+ hours at a sporting event compared to younger fans remains to be seen.

Re: Throwback Thursday

I have the 1971 Classic from Empire recorded. It has the entire pre-game and commercials. I don't believe the 4th quarter exists from this game. I think it got destroyed. In its place is a narrated highlight piece (that of course, shows the infamous Leon McQuay fumble). I was able to send a copy to...

Re: 2021 CFL free agency

This is a tough one as I always liked Rutley. I appreciated his tough, bruising running style and ability to run back kicks just like Monroe Eley did for us years ago. I think we're fairly set at the RB position. We have Shaq Cooper and young Reggie Corbin from Illinois whose tape looks impressive a...

Re: Braley Wants to Sell Lions

In most cases, I would agree with you maxlion. However, Braley's family knows how much the club meant to David. I don't think they want to sell for $1 just to get rid of a depreciating asset. The money set aside (and I'm hearing it should see them through 2-3 years of operation) is to find the right...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

It's February 25, certainly no reason to push the panic button (yet). But we're being fed seemingly empty and optimistic promises by Trudeau and Ambrosie on vaccine distribution and the possibility of a 2021 season respectively, yet every morning I wake up and very little seems to be changing. Accor...

Yea, it will be like playing the Habs of the 70's. :rotf:

Homegrown talent. Not a bad strategy for the Als I suppose.
