Re: Canadian Rules Question

He can certainly catch it, but can't throw it again.. That's why you see a lot of QB's just bat the ball down to the ground I believe he can if he caught the ball behind the line of scrimmage. I know you can't in the NFL because that is two forward pass attempts on the same play. CFL may be the same.

Re: A part of Cam Wake still bleeds orange....

Two enduring thoughts on Wake's play:

1. Most dominant CFL defender I have ever seen.

2. Most held defensive lineman I have ever seen, any league. In his second year, guys were waterskiing behind him with no calls. I know not all holds get called, but it was crazy.

Re: Who Will Be the New OC?

Is Chap even officially gone?

Like the comments of Belize, above. There is a good chance JC doesn't like being subordinate to Benevides. That is human nature.

Re: Mitchell Headed South to NFL...

At one time, the NFL CBA had a provision that a veteran making the veteran minimum counted the same against the cap as a much younger player. For instance, a 10 year vet making the minimum (say $900,000) would only count as a third year player (say $400,000). The idea was that marginal veterans woul...

Re: Say Goodbye to Chapball?

Chap was very much Buono's boy. He and Benevides may not be particularly tight. Sekeres had some interesting comments yesterday about how Chaps is not that respected around the league. Maybe getting some HC experience will get him closer to a CFL HC job. Not sure what the Bishop's program is like bu...

Re: Emmanuel Arceneaux

Miles Austin languished at the bottom of the Dallas roster for about three years, closer to the practice squad or the street than the lineup. He got coached up, made some plays on kick teams, and now makes about $7 million per season. Guys like Manny are going to chase the dream as far as they can.

End of an era - Wally steps down

Certainly a league legend. I thank him for his service.

I think the second GC really helps his legacy here in BC. No doubt he and Ackles were critical in bridging the credibility gap that plagued the franchise.

Re: Lions 34 - Bombers 23 Grey Cup Stats and Comments

I loved Jarious pulling the ball on the sneak and going around the left end, almost taking it in and also staying in bounds.

Archibald could well have been MOP.

Re: Grey Cup - Game Day Thread, November 27, 2011

For what we had available to us, and how the half finished, I think it was pretty much terrible. I love having the points, but I bet the Bombers have better energy in their locker room than the Lions do. I'm not going to go with terrible either, but it finished much worse than it started and that m...

Re: Grey Cup - Game Day Thread, November 27, 2011

That was a terrible half for the Lions. Lulay sailed some easy throws, Gore flinched on the deep one, offence did not flow. Don't like the momentum shift right now. I'm not sure I'd call a 14-6 lead "terrible" but we're leaving a lot of points on the board, going to back to Chapball after...

Never liked Mosca, and he always seemed to get a pass with the media.

I like Kapp's intensity. Sometimes you need to drop somebody.

Re: 2011 Gibson's Finest CFL Player Awards Night

I was iffy on Lulay prior to this season; thought he was regressing. I am starting to think I was possibly slightly mistaken.

McCallum not wearing a tie for the Awards night? If not then, when?
