Prince George Kodiaks

Another step in the right direction for Canadian football with Keon Raymond being hired as Director of Football Operations for the Prince George Kodiaks. Similar to Calvin McCarty in Edmonton. Seems win win all around and will pay dividends over time imo. Might be some fun for residents of Prince Ge...

Re: 2021 season

Beauty move by the Argos in signing MBT. Not sure he will see the field as much as he would like but that conversation has likely already taken place. Assuming both sides are happy.

Re: Braley Wants to Sell Lions

Wonderful! Wealthy charter members of the Waterboys, who suppose to bleed orange, are now saying no thanks while Alouettes were earlier sold to 89-year-old and 65-year-old Ontario businessmen after being on the block forever. No wonder Ambrosie is seeking this XFL partnership/merger. Similar to the...

Re: 2021 season

Not sure how much he can do in the Arena league but happy to see Manny sign to play and have a chance to show his wares. Hoping it translates into a spot on a CFL roster. It would not surprise me to see him do well given an opportunity which I think he might get in a watered down league if rumours o...

Re: Ed Hervey leaves Lions for "personal reasons"

Seeing Ed Hervey's name mentioned relate to a scouting position with the CFL and good to know the reported health issues that caused him to leave the Lions were apparently not as serious as was rumoured at the time of his departure.

Re: 2021 season

CFL is looking for a lot of guarantees regarding attendance. What if people choose to not go even after they have been vaccinated. Waiting for a crowd of 30,000 to raise the Grey Cup banner in Winnipeg may take some time. I doubt very much ticket pricing will be adjusted down given the new pay scale...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

From John Hodges insider quotes

"Our TV deal is so under market relative to the ratings. Combine that with new gambling initiatives and the league will be more than fine."

Global Draft

#1 overall.

Who is pulling the trigger and what will they do. Assume it will be Rick Campbell at the mike.

Factor in that they are obligated to sign for $54,000. Maybe they grab a kicker from Barcelona?

Seems like zero interest across the land.

What's next for the Lions radio deal?
Corus is the parent company of CJOB in Winnipeg, home of Bob Irving and the Bombers. They have been in sports radio just about forever (since Bob was young). I could see them interested in Lions games and a coaches show.

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

More news about the single game betting and how it is in the final stages of being passed. Comments made about how revenue from could be the answer to the CFL woes and am curious of the details. A bit dirty to continue squeezing players when they have a potential ace up their sleeve they are not rev...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

Bell switch TSN1150 in Hamilton to BNN Bloomberg News, something they had previously done with TSN1410 in Vancouver. They switched Vancouver's TSN1040 and Winnipeg's TSN1290 to their "Funny" comedy format. In October TSN1290 lost the radio rights for the Jets to CJOB, long time Bomber rig...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

Many recently laid off TSN employees might beg to differ. When they have no competition they can do as they please. The layoffs were to improve efficiency and profitability. Nothing to do with staving off bankruptcy. Same idea as cutting salaries by 20%. They want more is the bottom line. Did the s...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

Given the negative financial impact of Covid on thousands of companies and corporations many could well be looking to reduce their cost of advertising as a cost-cutting measure. So the story goes but reality is the big corporations are flying. Bell Media and TSN no exception to that rule. No tag da...

Re: Randy Ambrosie optimistic about 2021

CFL asking for another 20% from the players to start the season on time seems like a bit too much imo and not sure why they are not going back to TSN and asking for increased revenue seeing that many will be watching from home. They whine about the small market but don't mention the interest levels ...

Re: 2021 CFL free agency

Would like to give a little shout out for Tyrell Sutton who announced his retirement and added his name to the growing list. Not sure how to take his "running backs are a dime a dozen" comments but always felt he was full value for his work on the field. Good blocker and a hard runner. I w...
