Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

Not sure if that $350 B deficit number disclosed recently was ytd or projected. It's a big number either way. Get ready for $10 and $20 coins. Quit with the nickels if they haven't already. Nothing I can do about it but still find it more concerning than football, hockey, or golf these days. Some mi...

Re: Simulated CFL Games

Will second earlier comments that the play by play coverage makes the package more enjoyable and easier to follow. For that you have to go to the Rod Pederson show on Facebook. Not sure about Brandon Rutley starting or Lamar Durant returning kicks but overall rosters are as current as could be expec...

Re: Claybrooks

Good points Sir Purrcival. No doubt the scope of Wally's role left big shoes to fill and even in his reduced role as coach in his final season he still carried significant power beyond that of a head coach in his role as president. It could be that not everyone was as excited about the new look Lion...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

Thought there was talk earlier about all players becoming free agents at some point if the season did not proceed. Haven't heard any more about that but believe negotiations are ongoing with the CFLPA. Not sure where they are on it though.

Anyone know more about that? Was there a certain date?

Re: Claybrooks

Agreed. I had some great interactions with Claybrooks before and during training camp. He made many mistakes, beginning with the selection of an inexperienced coaching staff, but he and his team improved in the second half of the season until Mike Reilly was injured. I recognize the names of a few ...

Re: Claybrooks

Mike Reilly wears some goofy hats at times as well. Kind of weird when you think about it. Seems to me big Mike came through last year smelling like a rose while others took the fall. Offense was the problem. Maybe it was Reilly that didn't like the way Claybrooks wore his hat and put the bug in Bra...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

Almost seems like there could be a reluctance in some areas of reporting deaths as covid related. Quite casual about it in my area of NW Ontario it seems. Watch History channel long enough and there will be a show on lost civilizations. Each one sure that they were the master race. Lather, rinse, an...

Claybrooks

Nice to see a Claybrooks update on 3DN and to clear a little air surrounding his dismissal. Bearing no grudges will find him work again soon. I said at the time it didn't come from Ed Hervey and was somewhat coincidentally timed with Neil McEvoy taking his name out of consideration for the Montreal ...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

Personally like the job Sol E is doing as CFLPA pres. and good point raised that everyone is being paid except the players. Once again everyone forgets about all the high paid executives and tries to hammer the guys doing the work. I would like to see guaranteed player contracts. Randy Ambrosie maki...

Re: Week 3

Thanks for the heads up on Twitch.tv Any word on what the issue with the fantasy Lions has been? No doubt 0 - 3 was not the start they were hoping for. One dislike about the schedule for me is playing the same team twice in the first three weeks or so where an injury or even just a slow start could ...

Edmonton again. Lions definitely had a tough early schedule.

Would have been a good one to watch.

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

Given the events of the last 24 hours in the NHL, MLB, NFL all reporting new cases of Covid positive among players and staff in some cases, the conversation just got a lot more complicated for all professional sports organizations including the CFL. We are not talking just a case here or there. Aus...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

Interesting comments from Justin Dunk regarding Ambrosie. Making the big money and flying by the seat of his pants apparently. Mentions Scott Mitchell and Wade Miller as the key decision makers for the league which makes me wonder about the many senior and junior vice presidents listed in the CFL st...
