Re: Lions @ Alouettes -- Post Game Stats and Comments

Hard to fairly assess the D given the quality of the opposition tonight. Marsh's performance was awful and must have been pretty demoralizing for the Al's players. Still, Lions did the job in a big game, so kudos to them. Beck is a precise passer, but seems to buckle under pressure like a lot of ine...

Re: Lions @ Alouettes - Game Day Thread - September 3, 2015

Tanner Marsh's 2015 QB rating: 58.6 (career: 63.2, with 9 interceptions to 4 TDs). If we can stop the run, this game should be a gimme. As it is, we'll be fortunate to pull out a win. Remember our game in Mtl 2yrs ago when Marsh came off the bench late in Q1 to replace an ineffective Neiswander? We...

Re: Lions vs. The Als Thursday, Sept. 3rd

The Lions don't exactly excel when they play in Montreal and I'm expecting the same outcome for BC as they got their last game - an ugly L. I was thinking yesterday if the question of a thread was "What is the one positive you see for BC heading into the Als game this week?" how would I r...

Re: Lions vs. The Als Thursday, Sept. 3rd

I just finished talking with a friend who lives in Montreal and stays in close contact with the Als front office. He mentioned to me that the Als are PUMPED to play the Lions this week, and yesterday's and today's practices saw the team, under Jim Popp, FIRED UP and apparently talking a lot about t...

Re: Tight end experiment ends?

I think it was more than just a couple of dropped passes with AC. I got the sense that he was missing routes and assignments and just lacked the football IQ to be a difference maker.

I take back my prediction about the Riders--they aren't going to challenge anyone!

Everything JT said is sensible and accurate in my opinion. I appreciate his direct, professional approach. Still optimistic over here, but the proof will be in the pudding!

Re: Tight end experiment ends?

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2018617-ac-leonard-nfl-draft-2014-highlights-scouting-report-more The ups and downs on AC show he was more of a project with a lot of downside. He didn't get a lot of balls either as it seemed that this thing was the HC idea and there was no evidence that he and C...

Re: CFL Regular Season

If I'm not mistaken, the latter half of the schedule is more weighted towards divisional games. An eastern crossover is not impossible, but will become less likely as teams play more within their division. I should have said the last place team needs to beat out three not two western teams of cours...

Re: CFL Regular Season

I would not be surprised at all to see Sask beat the Redblacks and/or Bombers and start to put some pressure on us for 3rd place. It will be hard mathematically for a last place eastern team to beat out two western teams.

Re: Chevon Walker is available.....

Wally is to cheap to get him. Im sure he wants $$$$$$$ and would he come here period. Wally puts a bad taste in players mouths. Thats why we never get good Free Agents. Good idea though! It's David Braley's $$$, not Wally's. Wally has to work within the league's salary cap as well as the organizati...

Re: NEW BC PLACE 5 YEARS OLD

It's an impressive stadium, but not what is needed for the CFL or Whitecaps now. Ottawa, Hamilton, and Winnipeg got it right (minus the lawsuits).

Re: Als 23 @ Leos 13 - Post Game Stats and Comments

As Joe has long said, look at what the Wally led Lions are up against in the CFL today...Hufnagel, Dickenson and Stubler in CGY, Chris Jones in EDM, Kent Austin in HAM, Scott Milanovich in TOR, a very smart Jim Popp in MTL who won't tolerate losing and even Rick Campbell in OTT. There are few "...
