Re: Bombers @ Lions, Blog, Post Game Stats and Comments
Re: the Maxlion post: There's a fair amount of truth in your post, but I'm not sure I agree with everything you're saying. To whit.. It takes time to find out what players are capable of, etc. I would agree, but add, especially when you have some pre-conceived notions that have no basis in reality....

Re: Bombers @ Lions, Blog, Post Game Stats and Comments
Great stuff, Guys. The cumulative, lifetime experience of our posters shows to good effect. Whatever one's career, there are common threads that run through them all. And people can see what is happening. With football, and other pro sports, it is all there on the field to see. And what is on the f...

Re: Bombers @ Lions, Blog, Post Game Stats and Comments
Off and Def were good enough to win. ST gave the Bombers a chance. Officiating sealed the deal.
2nd game in a row with atrocious ST. Other than some good play from Rainey and Leone (who lately seems to have fallen apart), there has been nothing to commend the ST play this year.

Re: Bombers @ Lions, Blog, Post Game Stats and Comments
Lots of holes in the Lions tonight, but this game came down to a blown call by the officials. That was the difference between a win and loss. Close and exciting game otherwise.

Re: Kicking Woes
I've been a big fan of Leone since he came in this year, but he has been struggling. His gaffes were a big factor in the loss to Edmonton and yesterday was a gong show. He's young and I think it would serve him well to watch for a game or two .However, from a practical standpoint, this might be impo...

Re: Riders @ Lions -- Post Game Stats and Comments
Outstanding performance by Jennings. The most exciting and positive qb performance in bc in a long time. Strong game by Harris as well. Is Draheim that important to this team? Seems like it! Can't see anyone faulting Cortez' playcalling in this game. Special teams were inept. Missed fg and converts,...

Re: QB Development Timeline
Interesting stats, maxlion. The Lions brought along Lulay fairly quickly, in about 2 1/2 years, becoming the full-time starter. Of course Travis had NFL (signed by Seahawks 3 times and N.O.) and NFLE experience. Flutie was a 6-yr pro when he came to the CFL (and threw 73 Int's his first 3 reg. seas...

QB Development Timeline
There has been lots of discussion on how the lions have handled the QBs this year, and specifically on whether or not Jennings should have been starting games sooner than he did. Out of interest, I looked up the starting QBs in the last 20 grey cup finals, and looked at how they developed. The data ...

Re: Lions @ Eskimos -- Post Game Stats and Comments
Regarding Richie Leone's missed field goal and convert, that's what happens when you have a natural punter trying to learn how to place kick. It can happen to anyone. I wasn't crying too much when Paul McCallum mised from around the same spot in the WDF..... I'm not going to get down on Leone for t...

Re: Lions @ Eskimos -- Post Game Stats and Comments
Disappointing that we lost in the final minutes, but good that we hung in until the end with a new qb against a top team. I thought that there were a couple of questionable calls against us that might have swunv things the other way, but oh well. That's football. Jennings played well. Strong accurat...
