Re: Wally HC/ GM Again
The Lions need to hire an OC who has the potential to take over as head coach next season. It's highly unlikely Buono will be coaching next year. They don't want to start all over again with a new regime, so promoting within probably makes sense. Not Chapdelaine or Burrato but I wouldn't mind Dorazi...

Re: Braley begins process of selling team
The Lions are an attractive franchise because there is so much upside. They have a good lease at a terrific retractable-domed 54,000-seat stadium in one of the most desirable cities in the world. The franchise has been in continuous operation for over 60 years. They have consistently turned a modest...

Re: Wally Buono won't commit to Jeff Tedford for 2016
It was reported Tedford signed for $350k per season, making him the highest paid coach-only in the league. It was referred to as the absolute maximum a CFL team could pay for a coach...with Tedford accepting that "low" salary due to their family's desire to relocate to Vancouver after earn...

Re: Sekers running a poll on 1040 to get Wally to step down.
I don't buy that Wally is the root of all the Lion's problems. Get rid of him and "poof" we'll be back on the winning track. I doubt it's that easy and who would the Lions hire to replace him? Somebody new and exciting I guess, who might know what they're doing...but then again might not. ...

Re: 2015 TV viewership
One factor in the drop in CFL ratings is TSN no longer shows games on all 5 TSN channels, making CFL games unavailable in many homes unless they subscribe to optional sports packages. In Sask & Manitoba (where CFL ratings are the highest) several CFL games were bumped for Winnipeg Jets games, si...

Re: Gettting Ready For the Playoffs
TSN's Gary Lawless is reporting Cgy RB Jon Cornish, who hasn't played since Oct 10 and missed his team's last three games is likely to remain on the shelf for the WSF: http://www.cfl.ca/article/report-cornish-unlikely-to-play-for-stamps-in-semi-final Considering they were likely aware early on that...

Re: Jennings Gives Leos a Chance in Playoffs
My question is, what is Jennings' contract? Is he signed for next year? And I sure hope this doesn't become Printers/Dickenson Pt. 2. The minimum term for a CFL player's first contract is 2 years. The Lions often sign rookie QB's to a 3-year deal, so Jennings will definitely be with the Lions at le...

Re: Cal @ BC - GDT and Post Game Comments
That game was purrfect. stampers feel nice and cozy now, just where we want them. Yep, the TSN panel said the Stamps just have to show up and they'll beat the Lions. Everyone thinks this will be a cake-walk for the Stamps, but Jennings played pretty darn well in Calgary in his first extended CFL ac...

Re: Gettting Ready For the Playoffs
Giving some starters the opportunity to pad their stats is also a factor, especially those in contention for MOP awards and league supremacy like Bighill and Harris...who are key players who could have been rested.

Re: Gettting Ready For the Playoffs
My opinion, as stated earlier in a different thread ... Start Jennings. Play almost one half. Put Lulay in for a while. Depending on the situation, perhaps even put in McGhee for a series or two. Play to win. As noted, what if Lulay shoots lights out? Then you have a mini QB controversy. To my view...

Re: Messam to Stamps, Glenn to Als....
Cornish has a sore neck and won't play in Hamilton this weekend versus the Argos, which may have hastened the Messam trade. Messam provides more offensive punch than Walters, so the trade makes sense for Calgary. Cornish and Messam would make a pretty awesome rushing attack if the Stamps decide to p...
