Re: B.C. at Saskatchewan Aug. 6, 2021

It has been over 40 hours since the game ended and we are at 10 pages of comments. It has been a long time coming and I sure missed the dialog after a game. I'm looking forward to this Thursday against Calgary.

Re: RIP David Braley

I was with Dusty when we met Mr Braley at a BC LIons get together. He was amiable and easy to talk to. A huge loss to the CFL and the Lions. Thanks Mr Braley for all your contributions.

Re: Favourite BC Lions Stadium

I remember watching the game at Thunderbird Stadium. Great surroundings, hard seats and fantastic assortment of food trucks. It was a purrfect weather wise night for football.

Fond memories of CFL football.

Yikes, that is eye opening. No wonder we are in trouble as a league.

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

I'm in agreement with Hambone. This is not about money but about the longevity of the CFL and what it represents. We need the other CFL owners to express the same feelings and fans to stand behind their Teams and not perpetuate the CFL is dead mantra. If we don't play this year, so be it. There will...

Re: CFL Stadiums and Game Day Experiences

Remember when there was talk of an outdoor stadium in Gastown seating around 30,000? Although it was for soccer, I though the Lions would also use it. Yesterday's news reported, " The Vancouver Whitecaps' owner just sold this 115-year-old Gastown landmark in an all-cash deal."

Be safe.

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

Canada's society is not like China, Vietnam, Korea where 1984 is in full swing. We still treasure individual freedom although Facebook and Google, to name a few, are pulling it away. Generally, I prefer the freedom but I agree in times of a pandemic it would be good for "the people in charge&qu...

Re: COVID-19 : How it could impact Lions/CFL

I like the positive attitude of the Grey Cup in Vancouver. I'll make sure I save a mask and set of gloves. I wonder if Costco will be open for the pregame hotdog?

Remember to wash your hands.

Re: Goal posts

There are certain peculiarities in football that have to stay regardless of technology. For example, the 10 yard chain. It could easily be a laser measurement but the drama would disappear when the spot is marked. The goal posts have to be goal posts not a virtual 3D hologram. Still need human refs ...

Re: Braley Wants to Sell Lions

"What secret ingredient is involved that allows NFL teams to fill their stadiums despite the opportunity for fans to stay home and watch on tv?" I think a few reasons, the population in the US, Fantasy Football and single game betting. Even with attendance down, the numbers are still very ...

Re: Braley Wants to Sell Lions

I know it is an apples to oranges comparison but the Seahawks have an estimated value of $2.8 billion. As a minimum, the cost of a NFL franchise is $1B. I remember when the CFL salaries were higher than the "old" NFL. We need a MBA wiz kid (or gal) to come up with a business model where CF...
