Roberto Luongo puts on a solid performance, allowing only three goals while making several great saves, including those in overtime. Unfortunately, his West team couldn't put another goal into the East net in overtime or in the shootout despite the fact that the East had a rare penalty in OT. Had the West managed to win, then Luongo had a very good chance of winning the all-star game MVP.
Finally, the Canucks manage to win consecutive games and it's good to see Mats Sundin is finally performing to the level that he's expected to with his high contract. Hopefully, the Canucks can continue this solid effort for the rest of the season if they hope to make the playoffs.
Ironically as Canuck fans plan their parade route they seem to have failed to notice the fact that virtually every west team is getting points most nights
Canucks/hawks would be a great playoff matchup though
I still think the Canucks will be golfing in the 2nd week of April

Is this "Troy from White Rock"?
It is, isn't it?

On the weeks after the passing of Bob Ackles, there was so much criticism by some of the Lionbackers about how the Canucks web page did not provide any kind of sympathy message on their page. Well, it may be belated by there is now an official ceremony for Bob Ackles. At tonight's game against the Los Angeles Kings, there will be a pre-game ceremony to honour Bob Ackles.
Alex Burrows opened the scoring tonight vs. Colorado with his fourth shorthanded goal of the year, thanks to his trademark never-say-quit work ethic, and Matthias Ohlund set the new club record for career points by a defenseman (322) with an assist on the insurance marker.
It's also the ninth straight home win to tie a club record, and Tommy Larscheid speculated in the pre-game show that this may be the first time ever that a team has followed a nine-game home losing streak with a nine-game home win streak.
Point of interest for some people here: the Canucks are now only five points behind Calgary for the division lead, and have a game in hand!

Could you guys keep doing that? We're going to need you to keep Luongo healthy for us here in Detroit so we sign him in a couple of years after Lidstrom finally hangs it up and we can free up the cap space.
