Holt's addendum was signed last month and also changed some other clauses in his contract, notably that if he leaves during the last year of his contract he will have to pay back 25 percent of the last 12 months of his salary (this is a correction of the earlier post). There is also a provision that his salary will be reviewed each year (he has a base of $350,004 plus getting $300,000 annual compensation for "consultations, appearances and representation'' on behalf of the school.
Nussmeier will receive $300,000 this season (and apparently now next year, as well).
Nice research SammyGreene. Just as I thought. If you're coaching a big school in the States, you're going to be making some pretty serious coin, even as a coordinator. I couldn't see him coming back to the CFL unless it was to become HC.
In case anyone's wondering why the name "Doug Nussmeier" would surface in the first place, Doug played back-up quarterback here in BC in 2000 (to Damon Allen), then became our QB coach, before moving onto the Ottawa Renegades where he was the O-coordinator. The big lefty is from the Northwest too (Portland OR) and would be coaching a fellow Oregonian (Travis Lulay).
