While forever remembered as an actor playing Apollo Creed in the Rocky film series, we shouldn't forget that he was also a BC Lion for three seasons from 1971-73.

RIP. Carl was signed to a five-day trial by the Leos on 9/28/71. According to author John Wirtanen in his book, "Thrown To The Lions" (2000), "His sense of humor was infectious and contagious. He had you on the edge of your seat, or in the aisles fighting back tears." "Carl was notorious for using more trainers' tape than the entire defensive line."
