VA and Hatcher read the first Hamilton blitz and responded with a hot out route for a first down. The second one wasn’t picked up, and VA took a sack to take the team out of field goal range. He needed to throw that one away.

It’s great to gave Bo Lokombo back in the starting lineup. He’s a big asset in pass defence, and gets his hands on a ball in backfield to force a punt.

We start at midfield and can't even get a field goal, really?

Hardy picked up the blitz off the edge but VA couldn’t find anyone open and took his second sack of the game.

Lions started on O with both Mackie and Hardie, then the FB left and now it's less effective as the FB mackie is on the sidelines.

It's like OK check this off our list and don't use it again. The Lions 5 OL need help

VA takes the sneak himself. I'm okay with that.

Brutal dropped snap... at least Whyte is dependable.

Bad snap snuffs out another drive. At least VA threw the ball away to set up a Sean Whyte field goal.

I’ll be happy if Davis never sees the field again.

Really intrigued on how Hardy will be. I've always preferred bigger backs even if speed is sacrificed. Millington and Smith were a couple of my favourites. Since the Lions offense is heavily revolved around the passing as attack, I'm really interested to see if Hardy can pick up blitzes and block well. Smoke has had problems blocking all year. Too many times the opposing defense blitzes and he has no idea who to block and ends up in no man's land.
There won't be any speed sacrificed with Hardy (vs. Mizzell). He ran a 4.56 40 on his pro day; Mizzell ran a 4.55 on his. (This of course is straight-line speed and doesn’t really reflect twitchiness.) In addition, Hardy did a little better than Mizzell in the agility drills--the 3-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle. I don’t know whether these measurables will translate into improved rushing performance, but you’d have to think that his 40-lb. advantage over Mizzell should pay dividends. We’ll hope for a stronger run game….
