Right now the signings are being reported in a topic nothing to do with CFL free agents, so thought I would create this topic to list Free agents signings.

The latest is Alex S signing with the Eagles. Big loss for the Stamps.

Good for Alex Singleton. He is most deserving. Quality, character guy. Helluva LB.

Bad for the Stampeders.

Surprised no reported offers yet for Bo.

Not surprised ''Duke'' Williams signed down there.

Loads of good athletes. The CFL will be just fine in its level of talent.

Jimmy Johnson's Game Keys: Protect the ball. Make plays.

WCJ nails it with Singleton being a class person and great player. Sad to see him go.

I'm not surprised no Bo signings yet as he's in a bit of different situation and has to take far more care as he'd not get that much more than he's making now for a first year player who went undrafted. It'd be Singleton who could take him more money first year (or so I think).

I think the Colts have expressed the most interest in Bo but with Andrew Luck healthy and playing very well it would seem that a backup role is what is in store there. Bo needs to find an NFL team with a suspect starter.

It was reported that the Chargers have interest in Ty Long as a punter but the Bears look to need a FG kicker pretty badly. I don't know but I would assume that FG kickers get more $ than punters in the NFL.

What none of us can measure is how much Bo's heart wants the NFL versus how much Bo's head will make the decision on what's best for his football career.

He has two key role models he's worked with:

* Dave Dickenson - whose interview not long ago on Sportsnet 650 touched on how circumstances and other QBs and GMs didn't give him that chance to play.

* Jeff Garcia who's a Bo Levi fan and who Bo paid his own money at Dickenson's recommendation to spend a month with him. Jeff got a fantastic booster in Bill Walsh - something that Dave didn't get in his situation.

How he evaluates any TC offer will be interesting as he also has spoken of Henry Burris and others who didn't get a real chance to play.

We do know he's no Casey Printers in his evaluation who didn't either get sound advice or didn't do a realistic evaluation before wasting his career by going to Kansas City.

Then again, what's happening in the Mike Reilly tryout camps? All quiet for him.

Charger opportunity is a good one. They ranked pretty much dead last in both average and net. Couldn't tell you re: money P vs PK. It's pretty much moot for the first 3 years of any deal he gets. It does seem though that job security for punters is a bit better. NFL teams don't seem to be as tolerant of placekickers struggling. If the Bears need to replace their PK so too do the Seahawks. Janikowski who makes Osbaldiston look svelte was a waste for them.

Interesting interview by Dave Naylor at the CFL meetings where Dave Dickenson addresses the players leaving (4 maybe 5) and how he feels about it as well as about Bo and his own NFL experience. You might be surprised at how Dave views them leaving.

It's a must listen/view video if you want to know more on Dave D's experience going to the NFL as a QB where he has no regrets but felt he didn't get a chance to prove he could play in the NFL and how these QBs like Bo have to evaluate their chances. He also thought that he'd return to Calgary but teams move on and he was lucky that his good friend Wally wanted him in BC.

Dickenson was very clear that (he thinks or knows ) Bo has chances to go to the NFL - but it's not the issue. He puts this all in the context of age, money, personal priorities and how some NFL teams no longer carry the 3rd QB on the payroll but on the PR.

He was also clear that the CFL is not a consolation prize.

Good stuff, Toppy.

As one might say, Dave D is a man to be reckoned with. No surprise at his success in any endeavour.

Interesting Dickenson's mention about thinking he'd comeback Calgary when he returned from the NFL. A lot of folks think it's a given Mitchell will come back to the Stamps if he gets a shot down south and it doesn't work out. Fact it given it is the most crucial position teams can't play the wait and see game in hopes that QB does quickly come available. They have to move on and do their best to fill their starting QB position with the best possible talent they can get. Given Calgary is hosting the Grey Cup this year there is even more urgency and a higher priority to do so before they hit training camp.

Dickenson is not at all convinced that Mitchell will jump to the NFL, and neither am I. If he stays in Calgary, he is guaranteed to be the starter of a championship-calibre team and to make roughly $500,000 a year for the next several years. At his age (29 in March), the odds are probably against him having that kind of success in the NFL.

Two more fireside chats on TSN now. Ed Hervey and Brock Sunderland.

Ed H - suggests it is best for Jennings to go elsewhere.
Believes his comments on Jennings needed to be taken in context and that his agent was more sensitive than Jennings.

Says it wasn't about JJs work ethic - but "seeing people in the building" and how he's been there and how challenging players is how he is "old school" Says players want honesty until you say it and how in this business it's always a player issue - they weren't honest.

Says players asking the question need to be prepared for the answer. However, teams too need to be prepared for the player's responses. In this case, he made it clear it's best Jennings moves on for his career sake even though he's not sure that Lulay is sure he can play and of course acknowledges his injury record.

Ed H wants players who want to be with BC to win and long term. If that's the case let's get Adam Bighill back to BC as saw a 3 Down story saying its WPG or BC but the story goes BC don't want him. Bighill signed for $175K last season and Bombers dumped Leggatt and now Randle which will get more cap room to get Outstanding Def Player from last year back.

On hiring Devone. Says it's his third HC hiring who's never won a game as HC.

https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/video

Brock Sunderland is not sure of Mike Reilly's decision so he's doing Cap with him and Cap without him planning for next year. Says Mike's about winning and he's honest.

Puts last year and missing playoffs down to penalties in the early part of the season and not making drastic changes (ie fire his HC) as there's a recognition of what must done to win.
