Negotiation List players and other invitees go to these, and some players seek out the camps.

Hello, Buck Pierce ...

Some hotbeds of Amercan football in these places.

Florida

Georgia

Texas

California

Maryland

Nevada

Washington
.........

It would be fun to attend one of these.

Field Turf the surface of choice, evidently.

Best FA signing that never quite got going was Simmons, he was going to be a monster had he stayed healthy.
Entertainment value = an all time low

The Lions found Cam Wake at one of these free agent camps. Nobody knew who he was at that point.

Lions have certainly found their share of diamonds in the rough in these free agent camps.

Yes, it was through this process that they found Cam.

I believe, however, that Cam went to the wrong location, and actually missed the camp. O'Billovich saw his tape, though, and was impressed enough that Cam (Derek) got the invite to TC.

My recollection ...

Nothing in the Midwest, eh? I'm feeling a little left out.

Been to Massillon, Ohio to see the football team at practice. Got a chance to talk with the Head Coach. This is the high school where legendary Paul Brown once coached.

Been to Canton, Ohio, to visit the NFL Hall of Fame.

For me, I would have to say that Ohio is a heartland of football.

The conventional wisdom seems to be that the best prospects can be found in the U.S. South. The Eskimos, for example, have eight tryouts, seven in southern states (Texas 2, Alabama 2, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee) and one in Cincinnati, Ohio for the big, slow guys.

LOL

Hey, whaddoIcare? LOL But I am thinking that cromartie might see things just a bit differently.

And Rob Murphy.

Moeller High

Ohio State

Big slow guy?!**! Ha ha

I did shout at him one time. His first return to play the Lions here when he was with TO. Pregame I shouted at him after warmups that Ricky Foley would get 3 sacks on him. LOL

Foley got two, but only one could be "charged" to Murphy.

He was funny. Quite the character. He gave the ordinary number #56 cachet.
