Wilson may want to sell the team before the end of the year for tax purposes, and I don't see anyone in Toronto having their business together quickly enough.

Wasn't it Rogers spearheading the Toronto NFL effort?

How does this affect the 40 radio stations and two TV networks he also owns? Isn't Team 1040 a Rogers?

Ted Rogers owned no radio or TV stations.

1040 is part of CHUM/Globemedia.

Yes he was spearheading the effort, and if Wilson moves for a quick sale I don't see the likes of Godfrey etc. being in play.

His company offered me a free cell phone om Tuesday for being so loyal for 8 and a half years.

Yesterday, they called and said they had made a mistake, I did not qualify after all, unless I paid $275.

Hope all the Toronto Bills get are 8 fans and a yak this weekend. Go Dolphins.

While I am sorry for his family,_______________fill in the blank.

Team 1040 had a nfl guy on this past week that said the nfl requires individual owners and not a company. They said Roger's kids were not interested in sports and wanted to sell the blue jays. they said his death effectively rules out the rogers family from purchasing a nfl team.
Is the nfl now dead in canada? It appears so if you were counting on Rogers doing the purchase. Is there anyone else out there with a billion dollars?

A few, but not necessarily anyone who's any more interested in bringing the NFL to Toronto.

For as much grief as some people give them, the NFL has a brilliant business model. They've avoided jamming themselves into markets where they have no support (like the NHL), and insisting that owners must be individuals rather than companies I'm sure helps keep ownership a little more "grass roots" and probably helps keep teams better connected to their local communities.
