Sorry but Jennings sucks. Offense got severely outplayed in this one.
No he doesn't. His O coordinator does. Jo es has no idea how to handle a young QB coming off an injury. Completely stunned.

Lulay performed fine this year, and Jennings was good last year under the same coordinator. Look at Jennings qb rating, or just watch his play. He is clearly the worst starting qb in the league and has been a liability for the team this year. Big question mark going into next year.

There is blame on both sides. Jennings’ confidence is fragile and he is having trouble seeing the field. He needed quick, safe passing plays in the game plan to build his confidence. He didn’t get them, and he didn’t get any offensive momentum until it was too late.

Yes he does suck this year. Stop making excuses for players poor performances. Has Jones been poor with his play calling? Yes. Has our O-Line been awful? Absolutely. But Jennings has also looked very poor this year, making poor throws, telegraphing some of his throws, and making several poor reads. At this point I would say we should move on from him in the offseason. He's not worth the $300k that he's due next season.

Fair enough. Can we agree that a fresh start next year with a new offensive game plan with someone who knows how to utilize personnel and make in game adjustments will help a young QB?

No QB in the CFL would have been successful standing in the pocket with the Bombers D line coming and also the blitz. It was hardly disguised by the Bombers as they knew the Lions blocking schemes and their tendencies (based on alignment and who was in the game) so they had no fear. Long bomb or short outs or maybe a short crossing pattern - hardly tough for the Bombers to defend.

Not much effort to move the pocket to get outside the rush and the blitz other than Johnson running the same play 4 or 5 times until they were onto it or late when burnham was hit on the swing passes.

Lions got not much defensive push to get to Nicholls consistently but given they held the Bombers to no TDs all they had to do was score TDs themselves. No team to the red zone until the 4th I think was noted.

ST punt returns are the worst I've ever seen by a Wally coached Lions team. It's brutal consistently as Lions players aren't blocking their simply out of position as teams are getting downfield faster to not allow the Lions blockers to turn up field to get a block in. Is that not visible to the coaching staff? If they are going to be this bad then simply rush everybody but 1 or 2 returners as they'd have a better chance that way than what they're doing.

Overall two things look semi - evident:
1. The Lions have the worst orange uniforms in their history. (Didn't LU mention that after one of the on the road debacles?
2. They know that the only thing that will save them will be superior execution as they know their opponent knows what's coming. As they do little to change things up, the players sag when they're not getting success.

On the other side the Bombers look invigorated with their offense and even when Dan Lefevour (after a 1st down) stays in and they run a second run play that goes nowhere or they run Harris into the line and it goes nowhere - the players know they'll be an exciting call coming. The Lions on the other hand look frustrated when it is not working.

Mind you Bombers didn't get their TDs on offense so that's an achievement.

The onside kick off is also the most brutal ever in the Lions history. Every knows where it's going so they get it. American kicker used so you'd think they'd find one or develop a National to actually work on this stuff. The Lions would be better to send it on the ground once in a while than kick it to the player standing where it's coming or kick it at the far hache mark into the crowd. Do freaking something different.

That's it that's all she wrote...another disastrous season, only this time the worst of all

Wally Bonehead has delivered two Championships in 14 long years!

Just doesn't cut the mustard!!!
in an 8 or 9 team league, 2 wins in 14 years is above average.

Agreed, he has been far above average. Wally's been a great coach for us until 2011 and last year when he came back. While some might criticize, his teams always came to play and made proper adjustments. This year however is a disaster and coaching is largely responsible for it. Love Wally, but with all talent we have we should be doing much better.

Possibly. Or it's possible that Jennings just isn't that good. He had problems with interceptions last year, and those have gotten a lot worse this year. He's not looked at all like a competent starting QB this year. With him set to make $300k next year I would be looking to renegotiate that, or outright cut him and go hard after James Franklin.

Wally is a legend, and was a major reason why this team turned things around after the disaster that was the late 90's. His teams were always contenders, and our long playoff streak is a testament to his abilities as a coach. He's also shown a knack for releasing players just before their best before dates. Sometimes this has created controversy, but rarely has he ever come out of it looking wrong.

Perhaps his biggest flaw was not recognizing his own best before date?

if only Jennings hadn’t thrown the Pick-6 or the deep INT into double coverage. That cost the Lions 10 points. Jennings came into the year acknowledging that he had to cut down on his interceptions. He has regressed badly.
Interceptions have been Jennings' Archilles
