UCLA ran it this September.
Nevertheless, it didn’t work. Rosen’s pass attempt intended for Jordan Lasley fell incomplete and UCLA was forced to punt.
Something different. OK. Does it achieve anything aside from a break in the monotony? Not so sure.

But ... go for it. Maybe a defender gets mixed up. Maybe. But teams can prep for it rather easily.

Wally talks about the upcoming game with Ottawa.

"I don't think it's only about Jon. We want to give him more looks. It's also about the protection, the running game, the defence."

"Ottawa is a team that does a lot of stuff. They make you work on a lot of things. They give you a lot of things to deal with." -- This fan likes that approach. Force your opponent to prepare for a variety of things.

"Last week we got our running game going."
IMO, the Lions lost the game last week because they stopped running the ball in the 4th quarter.

I find that listening to Wally's explanations and excesses and fixes are getting to be more and more BS and well, quite tiresome to listen to.

He may be fooling some fans with his explanation but it's falling on deaf ears with hard core fans.

It may be small consolation to the Lions, but this is a much better Hamilton team than the one coached by Kent Austin in the first half of the season. They're 4-2 under June Jones, and Jeremiah Masoli is doing some great things at quarterback. He was 27 of 33 for 338 yards and 2 TDs and added 48 yards rushing. He hit Brandon Banks for a 60-yard TD to set the tone and got some clutch second down catches from Luke Tasker, Andy Fantuz and others to widen the Ticats' lead after they lost kicker Sergio Castillo to a serious leg injury.

The Hamilton defence held Andrew Harris in check all night and knocked Matt Nichols out of the game with a hand injury after two strip sacks.

The Ticats could still catch Ottawa for the second and likely final playoff spot in the East.

June Jones out coached Wally and staff easily and now went through a solid Bombers team & coaching staff....coaching does make huge difference

I think Lapo outcoached himself as Harris had just 4 touches in the first half and Matt N had his hand crunched twice.

Not sure why Harris didn't get in the mix more until the 2nd half.

Yes, it's a better coached team now with Jones running it.

Nice quick kick on 2nd down that speedy Banks got to as he was onside. Given that Chris Williams isn't being used why not have him in that situation?

Direct snap by the bombers to D Adams on short yardage thru the QBs legs (Dan L in the run) and nice pass off of that.

As Climie said, the players love this stuff in practice but then he made a real bone head comment to Dunnigan suggesting he didn't like this. Where was Climie when Dunnigan as HC of the stamps beat BC at BC Place if the refs hadn't erred on his pass and kick for a TD play?

Criticize Wally but at least he knows about having two quarterbacks.
Walters and O Shea overpaid Nichols and hoped for the best. Luckily again for the Bombers the injury did not look serious.
Could get interesting yet.

Tendencies, vulnerabilities and detailed game preparation.

One could also call it a "trick play."

O'Shea, LaPolice and the staff view the film. They see how the TiCats play against short yardage. They prepare a disguised pass play to Andrew Harris.

Harris looks to be blocking on the left.

Harris shoots out for a pass, as the ball is snapped between LeFevour's legs directly to Adams.

The DB is sucked in by the deception, as Harris flies past.

The TiCats can't really see what is happening. Who has the ball? Adams has it, and is ready to throw to Harris.

The snap through the legs prevents the DB from seeing exactly what is going on. The DBs look to LeFevour in the scrum.

Direct snap to Adams who disguises his intentions by looking to the right. Harris sneaks out of the backfield. Wide open. It is a beautifully conceived play, from detailed analysis of the tape. Full credit to O'Shea and his staff.

Missed field goal by the TiCats. Good return by the Bombers.

Man, it ain't easy coaching. Jones in some discomfort on the sideline. And that is all he shows. This fan is very impressed by how Jones goes about his work.

"The Bombers lead the league in innovative plays," says Cuthbert.

"Great hurry up offence right now, working the sideline," says Suitor.

Just another snap, right?

What do the TiCats see on the film?

2017-10-07_0520.png
Ohhhh. Loffler is attacking the line of scrimmage. Masoli has taken a quiet couple of steps backwards on 3rd and 2.
