my old 20 yr old computer that I have 98 on so that I can play old games that I cannot get to work on newer comp/op sys/video card etc, stopped working.
it just froze mid game and when I went to reboot it, it just kept coming up with boot disk failure, insert system disk. I tried a lot of different ways around it and nothing worked. So I punch the side three times, really rocked it, now it works again, at least for now. Go figure
sometimes it really works

Electronics repair technicians commonly refer to that process as "percussive maintenance".KnowItAll wrote:I tried a lot of different ways around it and nothing worked. So I punch the side three times, really rocked it, now it works again, at least for now. Go figure
(Seriously speaking, though, it's probably an indication that your hard drive is wearing out. Unfortunately, those old IDE hard drives are very hard to find these days.)
