Barresi may have been a scapegoat to a degree but Lapo is the HC and he has to take responsibility. Yes the play calling and game planning was suspect. But so was the overall talent. The receivers were mostly 1st or 2nd year starters. Denmark, Watson, Carr and Poblah ( when not injured ) might become a good receiving corps. Having said that, it's still an inexperienced group and was part of the problem. The Bomber OL was not the best either.

I think fans in all cities expect too much from their QB's. It takes most several seasons to become good QB's. Pierce has only started about 40 games even though he's been in the CFL for awhile. That in itself is still somewhat of an inexperienced QB that doesn't have the sheer talent to overcome all the other offensive failures.

So it's unfair of Bomber fans to put all the blame on Pierce's shoulders and make comments that he's " not good enough ". It's a team game and the team was good enough to get to the Grey Cup. It wasn't good enough to win.

Pierce is not AC or R Ray I think he was better than he gets credit for at the moment.
