Note the headline: " Roughriders expect contribution from 13th man Sunday"
I'm sorry, but this made me chuckle.
Don't mean to rub it in, but.....

On a serious note, I hope they don't give out the name of the player that was at fault for the penalty. Shades of Paul McCallum's missed 14-yard field goal from a few years ago.
Although, it could be as simple as rewinding the PVR.

The 13th man sure came back to bite them in the ass tonight.
Wouldn't be too surprising — they do have to pay an extra player more than the rest of the league, after all.LFITQ wrote:Will it be ironic if it is found out the Riders went over the salary cap again this year as well?
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.
Look at their injury list and practice roster compared to all the other teams, they have at minimum 10 more players in camp than the other teams.LFITQ wrote:Will it be ironic if it is found out the Riders went over the salary cap again this year as well?
Some mispelling may or may not occur as well as using a word incorrectly in my posts

Why not? I'm sure that guy could use some free fertilizer, good for the tulips in spring.Lion_Pride_26 wrote:On a serious note, I hope they don't give out the name of the player that was at fault for the penalty.

I guess the Als learned from their mistake when they were in BC Place this year. This time on their do-over they got it right the second time around.
I guess the Als can thank the Lions for their Grey Cup victory for teaching them a lesson earlier in the year and allowing them to learn from their mistakes...

This reminds me of Don Cherry and the Bruins with the too many men penalty.
Don has never mentioned the name of the offending player to this day.
Hopefully, the Riders will follow suit.

Agreed. But if Kavis Reed is true to his word, no PLAYERS were at fault. He told an extra lineman to go out and he failed to bring in another player. I have a feeling in the heat of the moment that is the truth.Vern Halen wrote:This reminds me of Don Cherry and the Bruins with the too many men penalty.

For all the hard times we give you here, I am sorry that this happened for you. For those at Riderfans not so much, but you are a true fan and deserved better, imo.Vern Halen wrote:This reminds me of Don Cherry and the Bruins with the too many men penalty.

I would lose to you any time, and you should be proud of your club regardless. They are one helluva team. Wish some of the Leos had half that much heart.
