Metal Lions

Well, this isnt really a collectable i guess as theres only two and they are both on my wall, lol. I figured that this was the best spot to post this in. I have gotten into metal art in the past few years, and I've started to branch into sports. I did a canucks symbol a little while ago and then went to work on the Lions logo. So after many tedious hours i've finished. The main one is hung right by my big screen. It's 24" x 24", made out of 10ga 304 Stainless steel. Was actually an old conveyor that i chopped up. The second one is much smaller, its about 8.5" x 8.5". Both have been minorly polished, althought i am planing on putting a mirror finish on both, tho that will be about a 10 hour job on the main one. Sorry the pics aren't great, its really tough to take pics of metal with a flash, especially polished. The lighting in my house is pretty poor for taking pics as well. Maybe one day I'll get someone to take sum pics with a good camera, mine is a cheap pos. But here they are, i hope they dont take up too much of the screen lol.

Those are gorgeous; too bad you can't mass produce them.

Acually I could, tho that would be an infringement on the Lions copyright of the logo. The work is the drawing, it took me over 40 hours to draw it until i was happy with the final product, I cut it on a flowjet water cutting machine.

Excellent Work.

You should approach the Lions and see if the would like a finished product for one of their office walls. Perhaps you could strike a deal with them to produce a few limited edition wall plaques or something like that. Those flowjets are amazing machines.

Yea, ive made some pretty incredible things, tho most of the stuff that i do at work is pretty basic/boring.....all my interesting stuff is done on my own time and takes quite a bit of time. Becomes christmas presents and such as well. tho there are times when i will stay at work until 10 -11 at night working on some project. Tho if you really want to see some amazing metal art, a guy that used to work at my shop has his own deal now, he makes some amazing stuff, i wont say what it is, but you will be impressed guaranteed. His company is called metal animation and his name is kevin stone. some ppl may have seen his work on the local news or online or in the papers. Check his stuff out... http://www.metalanimation.com/

Excellent work WBTY, I really appreciate that work of art. You really should contact the Lions with that and see if something can be worked out with them.
