I don't recall any stories of a fight on the team bus on the way to the 2004 GC but it's common knowledge the 1994 Lions had a scrap on the bus to the game.
Didn’t that 1994 team have a multitude of scraps?
I think they were like a large family with several brothers who were always scrapping amongst each other but if someone outside the family tried to take on a brother they had to take them all on. Not everybody gets along in a group of 46 men many with alpha personalities. And of course Dave Ritchie was the coach. His teams as a rule were an undisciplined bunch. He probably like the guys to not get along all the time.

EE President Len Rhodes and on of their directors happened to sit beside me at the bar in the 3 Brewers pub this afternoon. He said prices next year's GC will run from a low of $99 to high of $299. They acknowledged that not having to take on the cost of adding temporary seats is huge in keeping prices lower.

We will be flying out tomorrow morning and arriving late afternoon. I plan on hitting the ground running but my wife may need to have a snooze first

I got to say I have been really happy with how the organizers have been sending a steady stream of email reminders and lists of daily events. Also their emphasis on how to use transit to get around the various venues and the fact it is FREE with your GC ticket for the length of the festival is highly commendable.

To the GC vets out there, how common has it been for local transit to become a freebie? I believe transit to and from Lansdowne is free during game day.

What's common among the stars in the CFL is their continued expression of appreciation for the fans. Mike Reilly in his MOP speech made a point that even though just two teams are in the GC, every team in the CFL is represented on the streets of Ottawa.

You hear that from Bo LM and the likes of Nik Lewis and this year more and more Duron Carter. Huge kudos from these guys for the fans of the CFL.

Arrived at the Ottawa airport and were greeted by members of the Redblacks drum line, cheerleaders and a Grey Cup info booth.
Arrived at Pearson last year and saw.......a sign.

Sounds like this year's Grey Cup is far more organized than last year's

In fairness Ottawa had 16 months from point of being awarded to organize things compared to 14 for Toronto. And they didn't have to simultaneously deal with a change of ownership and transitioning a team and ST base into a new facility. Not surprisingly Edmonton who was awarded the 2018 game 18 months in advance already has brochures printed up for handout in Ottawa. IMO the CFL screwed up in awarding Toronto last year's game when they already knew full well the team had been sold and new ownership would have a full to overflowing plate of other higher priorities to deal with.
