Dave Naylor is obsessed with Manziel - so it seems.

The NFL has many domestic abuse issues so they're not taking him - and the CFL has it's own campaign the guy flies in the face of.

If you have to find a guy hanging out in some distant resort versus "working out" and getting his act together, that should be red flag enough.

The latest on Manziel on 3 Down Nation.

http://3downnation.com/2017/11/08/johnn ... nt-photos/

I don't think he's training for football but Austin and the Ticats are still looking at him - at least that is what Austin was saying last week when he was responding to 3Down story the players don't want him back. Austin is in touch with the CFL every few days or something - but clearly he's not contacting the beach boy! lol

I fail to grasp how they think he'll actually do the work needed to be in shape. There's a reason the NFL ain't taking a flyer on him and it's not because he took a knee during the anthem.

The CFL entire campaign on anti-violence would be discredited with this signing and I'm sure the Commissioner knows this.

This is the body of a middle aged fan not a 24 year old football player.

Even a kicker or punter should be in better shape than Johnny Manziel. Many golfers nowadays have better muscle tone.

This post is just an excuse to put up a picture of his girlfriend on the beach in Hawaii. Yup. Wow. Hot body.
All of which means that Manziel could very well be at a CFL training camp by next spring. And while that’s six months away – and not every CFL player has the body of an Adonis – the photos will likely lead to some questioning of just how committed Manziel is to a life in professional football.

For a man once known as Johnny Football, he certainly looks to be inflated.

Johnny Manziel, 24, showed off his post-career paunch as he went shirtless on the beach in Maui on Monday.

He was not alone for the day of fun in the sun as he was outshined by his model fiancee Bre Tiesi who paraded around her flawless figure in a thong bikini.

I've seen enough, Toppy. LOL

She looks like she works out. Very fit.

Johnny looks to be in terrible shape, except for maybe a darts, tattoos and beer tournament.

Based on the picture above, the most important question is where does she put the phone?? Oh, I guess it never leaves the hand/ear location.....

so fed up with this sideshow... hate the way his violent past is being spun as mere "accusation" by media - he was indicted by a grand jury, which saw medical evidence of him rupturing his girlfriend's eardrum, which while not a criminal conviction, is by comparison, more serious than just being charged with a crime by the crown in canada. he got out of court by paying off his victim in an out of court settlement and agreeing to a restraining order. again, just shy of the legal definition of guilt, but it all stinks to high heaven. see my post here for some choice quotes from his own father about this guy's character and the extent to which his family tried to help him: viewtopic.php?p=384191#p384191

ticats would be freaking delusional to keep pursuing this fool... the blowback from fans against the organization over the art briles fiasco appears to still be in effect, plus the recent blowback against austin from players and bob young's apparent naivete about it all, further pissing off fans...

the article also gets it wrong by saying "The CFL has also extended the window by which the Ticats had to offer Manziel a deal to Nov. 30." the league's ultra-convoluted release actually said that manziel is in effect banned from the cfl until nov 30, after which time, he could seek to plead his case for reinstatement under some unspecified guidelines designed just for him, which will never be disclosed to the public. pathetic.

hope this clown stays on the beach and in the tabloids where he belongs. he gets anywhere close to the cfl again and i'll be seriously questioning my loyalty as a fan. the bleepshow that is the lions right now is bad enough as it is...

Jones: Manziel would be "best player to ever play up here".

https://www.tsn.ca/jones-manziel-would- ... e-1.937424

Jones deserves credit for breathing new life into the ticats in the latter part of the season, but it is hard to imagine a statement more out of touch with reality and ignorant of the history of the league.

Could Manziel be the best ever? If he were to reach the highest ceiling of his potential, I would say, maybe, possibly, but still unlikely. However, based on all indications of his character and discipline, the chances of his reaching this potential are so remote as to be virtually non-existent.

Between nonsensical comments such as this and the poorly thought out decision to hire Art Briles, I have a feeling that the shine is going to come off of June Jones rather quickly.

Jones is dishing out pretty high praise for a guy who has squandered every opportunity to be a pro quarterback.

The Ticats are in a tough position with the salary cap. Zach Collaros is under contract for starter's money and reportedly has a roster bonus of half his salary due Feb. 1. Any team that trades for him would have to commit to making him their 2018 starter before he ever sets foot on the field. He'll likely be released before then and will have to negotiate a new deal on the free-agent market.

Jeremian Masoli is due to become a free agent in February. He proved he can be a starter and Jones seems to want him back, but at what price? Re-signing Masoli at starter's salary and trying to develop Manziel behind him is a recipe for disaster. Masoli might get more money elsewhere as a free agent.

That leaves Manziel. If Randy Ambrosie give his blessing to Manziel, I would expect the Ticats to go all in and commit to him as their starter for the next two years. And if he flames out as he has done in the past, the Ticats are left with nothing.

Best case scenario for us if the Ti-Cats sign Manziel, is that they start the season on the road here in Vancouver. July games are always a struggle to attract fans. This would create a ton of buzz, especially if it's his first game.

Otherwise, only the Riders make sense on the schedule here in July. Better to play most on the road.
