Defensive end Eric Norwood was released by Hamilton today. Anyone think that Wally will put out any feelers or otherwise attempt to get him within the fold? The Lions didn't sign any defensive ends during free agency although they did sign interior lineman Bryant Turner. Some folks believe could be converted to defensive end without too much problem because of his athleticism and being somewhat undersized for an interior guy...someone similar to Keron Williams.

The 27-year-old South Carolina graduate spent three seasons with the Ticats, emerging as one of the league’s premier pass-rushers. Last season he recorded seven sacks despite being limited by injuries, while in 2014 he was among league leaders with 13 sacks in 15 games.

Norwood, a 6-foot-1, 241-pound Oakland, Calif. native, attended high school in Georgia before attending South Carolina. After being named a First-Team All-American in 2009 he was selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers in 2010.

I'm hearing that Norwood was released due to his 2015 severe injury and possibly not even being ready until LD. He was a very good player and might be again however it's a timing issue.
