Pratt is Pratt. The thing I was surprised about when Bro Jake got the show was how old and unfunny he is. I'd heard the name before, but didn't know much about him. What I gather is that he was once glib and funny, and has some following. I find myself wondering how he could appeal to anyone nowadays as his train left the station long ago.

Yes it was pretty grotesque. Afterwards Bro Jake remarked how classy Travis was dealing with Pratt's crass questions.
I usually listen to 1040 from 8:15 onwards (start of my commute) and had to find this online.
I put up with them until 10am when the real sports talk programming begins. Pratt must be getting decent ratings to be still on--not that there is a lot of competition with 1410 doing ESPN Mike and Mike in that time slot.

The NFL style hasn't changed that much. Brady still represents the ideal. Despite Russell Wilson, look how RGIII crashed and burned. It will be the likes of Jared Goff, Connor Cook and Christain Hackenberg that the NFL guys will be interested in.

Jennings can potentially carve out a nice career here is he doesn't get dumb/bad advice.

Back in the late 50s early 60s there were a couple of exhibition games played between CFL and NFL teams.

After the Ticats beat the Buffalo Bills in 1962, the American leagues refused to play the CFL again. Much like the War of 1812, when a ragtag group of British, French and Indians had the massive American invasion force in full retreat. The Canadians, despite being outnumbered 10 to 1, chased the Yanks back to Washington and proceeded to burn their capitol to the ground. The U.S. never again dared to invade Canada despite it being the longest "undefended" border in the world. Same as the NFL Bills invasion of Canada. The populous spoke loud and clear. Yankee go home. Canada is CFL country!

Actually my sources in Roger Goo-Dell's office have quietly confirmed that a number of the NFL teams from the former Union states in the North are wanting to separate from the NFL and join the CFL. They first needed to confirm that the "C" in CFL in fact stood for Canada and not Confederacy! Wouldn't look very good....

A big part of the push for this abrupt about face is the fact we have JJ and they were short-sighted and let him go up to the Great White North! They have heard the Lions' coffers only contain moths and Marks from the Weimar Republic so they are pretty sure they can sign him from us when his contract ends.

Some teams are really getting into it.... The Packers are going to become the Poutine-Packers, the Vikings are going to relocate to Gimli, the Patriots are becoming the United Empire Loyalists, the 49ers will remain the 49ers but now it refers to the 49th parallel, the Seahawks will become the Thunderbirds and relocate Century Link Field to UBC (the UBC Thunderbirds will become the Jr. Birds), the Bills will become the Guillaumes, the Browns will become the Off-Whites (just want to be polite and not want to offend anyone with too radical a colour choice)....

Bet you JJ will be totally gob-smacked when he finds out he is wanted so bad by the NFL.

LOL --exactly what I was thinking. I think Jennings might be a little less susceptible to bad advice than Printers was. At least he doesn't come across as egotistical right now.

Seriously, even 6' tall is still too smurf sized for an NFL QB today. (There are very few 5'11" Russell Wilsons that make it).

While I am elated that Jon Jennings is emerging as a future star....I just don't want to see the former MOP who led us to a Grey Cup and worked like hell to re-hab a bad shoulder get treated like yesterday's news. Show some respect. Let's not forget, JJ has been around Travis since Day 1 soaking it all in like a sponge. Travis has been very gracious about sharing the tricks of the trade.

Not sure if any of you caught Travis on his weekly interview on TSN1040 this morning at 7:10am, but I sure didn't like the way it was handled.

Pratt and Bro Jake basically taking turns going ga-ga over Jennings. Jennings this, Jennings that. "Does he remind you of Russell Wilson, Travis?" Basically saying, what do you think of our new star quarterback, Travis? Then Pratt goes, "so the $64 million dollar question (I guess that's the $64,000 question with inflation), where does this leave Travis Lulay?" I could tell he was a little shocked, probably a little hurt but handled it all with exceptional class, and had nothing but praise for the young QB.

Same Bro Jake who called him JOSHUA Jennings last week. Jake knows nothing about sports in general and even less about CFL football. It's like listening to my mother try to involve her self in a sports conversation, except my mother doesn't obsess over porn stars and dick jokes.

But yes, David I fully agree with you about showing Travis some respect. We love to rag on WB for how he dismisses players regardless of their service to the organisation and here some Lionbackers are doing the exact same thing to Travis.

I got to believe a guy like Travis who combines leadership, personal class, respect for others (in particular his team-mates) will shrug off treatment at the hands of a Pratt and Bro Jake. I think the respect of his peers, colleagues and teammates are the ones that ultimately matter most to him. And Jennings seems like a very even-keeled, modest and respectful young man. I expect (and would hope) that Jennings extends that respect to Lulay.

Jennings himself has not had a path to pro football that screams "entitlement". He played on a Division II school and began as a backup, moving to starter when the guy ahead of him went down to injury. The same thing happened in high school. He went undrafted and as mentioned here, had tryouts with at least 3 NFL clubs and the Riders in 2014, none of which panned out. He didn't play football professionally in 2014.

Myself, I will always hold Travis in high regard for what he has done for this franchise.

I wish fans would show some class towards Travis Lulay the way he showed class to the team, city and the CFL. Before anointing Jennings as the next one, let's keep in perspective his performance was against the 2-9 Riders.
