Q1 ... From the iPad (typos).

Milanovich deserves credit for developing both Zach Collaros and Trevor Harris.

9 in the box first play on D for Argos. 9. Two and out. 3rd and one.

Biggie and Solo start off away from LOS.

Two conversions in two tries for Argos.

Taunting.

Parks int. He has been very good for us. Talented.

Our D is a concern though.

Oh yeah. Holes for Harris.

Lulay to Taylor. Beauty protection. Draheim and Fabien.

AC. We gonna see copycat re AC? Oh yeah.

OL improved tenfold, -- Suitor. Oh yeah. 12 years of OL misery over. Harris must be ecstatic. Full credit to Doug Malone.

That is Andrew Harris. Fully, completely talented running back. With help yhis year.

1st down run for Argos.

Blitz, Whoo Hoooo ... Pick. Attaway, Mark W.

OL Protection. Awesome.

Andrew Harris. Awesome. In any league.

Love this offence.

Blitz. Cool. Way to Mark W. 6 men in.

Full credit to the Lions' game plans so far.

We are energized tonight.

Lulay to Manny. Harris first down.

Q2

Look at AH make guys miss. Unreal. You don't teach that instinct. 21-0.

Nice blocking. Seven man line.

Lovin' it.

Menard tackle.

Bazzie makes a bad decision. Dayum.

Blitz effective. Bazzie destroyed a two and out.

Bighill drops deep, to no avail. Four man rush. Killed. Just when we see some hope for the D. Long TD for the Argos vs prevent. 7-21 Argos trail. Penalty. Hope for the Argos.

Sack. Coverage. Darryl Waud. We could have drafted him. Ouch ... Ouch ... Bad feeling about the drafting decision we made. Did we go project instead of immediate help?

Momentum switch. Be nice to move the ball here. That penalty on Bazzie brought the switch.

Harris.

505 left in the half. Two and out.

We are in prevent. Coombs wide open. Three man rush. Two and out though.

Three min warning.

CT drop. Roughing on Argos. First hit on Lulay. Missed throw. Three 2 and outs in a row for us.

Stop. Almost a late hit on us. Nice int, not good between Lulay and Collie.

21-7 at the half.

Q3

Now the test for our D.

Big kicks from Leone.

TH escapes the sack.

TH to Whitaker. Conversion. 32 yards.

PI. Argos moving the ball. Jabar great play and tackle. We got a stop, but FG. 21-10.

Good run D by TO. 8 in the box for TO. Very aggressive. Two and out.

Two and out for TO.

Nice run for AH. Beauty blocks by Fabien.

Another nice play by Waud. Ouch ... Going for it. Travis and Manny do not do it. Manny had both hands on it. Collie made a tougher catch.

Gurley kills the zone. Three paases over 30 for TO. We have seen this before. TD.

The Argos have character. 18 straight points.

Now we need to step up.

We are going backwards.

Manny had a shot, missed it.

2 minutes left in a poor quarter for us.

Conversion on short. Elliott killing us.

End of Q3.

21-18.

Our O has stalled, and our D is on the ropes. At least Mark W is mixing it up.

Q4

We are oh so vulnerable to the screen. Not looking good.

2nd and 25. We get a stop. FG.

21-21. Ughhhh. So much for the big lead.

Now can our O rally?

Can our D keep the Argos from scoring?

Zone read stopped.

Two and out. Leone kills it.

Now what will we see by our D?

Clipping.

We give up the pass, but we get the stop. OK. Stopped the momentum.

Little Shaq very slippery. CT first down.

Nice protection. Stupid penalty on Argos. Shut up, Suitor.

Argos get a stop. 24-21. FG.

Nice catch by Owens.

THarris better than Lulay tonight.

Sack, but, No, it is penalty on us.

We look like a sieve.

TH runs for 1st.

TD. They have the lead.
.....

Travis cooled off. Argos adjusted.

Our D still looks liks a sieve to me. But Mark W is trying to mix it up. Whatever ...

Great run by Shaq. Black stopped a TD.

Faint hope on that bomb.

Leone awesome.

Can we get a stop? Doesn't look like it.

Gurley. Ughhh

Face mask. Gheezus.

300 yards for Harris. How we liking our defence?

Full marks to to Milanovich. Great comeback. Boy, did we let this one get away.

Pressure by the Argos.

Two comments:

1. Coaches and players failed to come out of the room ready for the second half. This team is too up when it's great and it shows when they let a team back with 30 points to their 6 in 30 min of football.

2. Next home game won't be pretty for fan numbers in seats. Playing and coaching to get Skulsky fired...lol...

Travis cooled off. Big time. To be expected, methinks. Too much time off.

Our receivers look very average. Manny should stop talking about the Manny show. A.C. shows some potential. Gurley and Elliott look light years beyond our guys. And then there is the big weapon, Chad Owens.

IMO our D still looks like a sieve. And some of the stats seem to back that up.

To his credit, Mark W tried to mix it up a bit tonight. With limited success. Our blitzes are still telegraphed. Hello, here we come.

Scott Milanovich shows why he is one helluva coach. Great character comeback. They fully deserved the win. Winning on the road. Tremendous coach. Could Wally or Benny ever hope to compete with him in this modern, wide open league?

With Tedford we have a chance. Now, about that defence ...

Trevor Harris is playing great football. Moves around well for an immobile guy.

Not disappointed that Tedford went for it on that crucial play. But there must be a simpler, easier throw and catch than that. High velocity. Short throw. Defender getting his hand in there. Manny not quite snagging it.

Back to reality. We have much work to do.

The Argos snuffed the zone read. They finally put a spy on Andrew Harris.

Trevor Harris started to light it up.

Argos win. We lose. Back to the drawing board.

Back later ...

Two interceptions early helped mask the fact our defense was getting their ass kicked from the start. This game could have started out 14-7 for the Argos. Back to back picks rattle Trevor Harris and it took him a bit to get his rhythm back. But once he did Washington had no plan to stop the Argos.

Mark my words the Lions are going to quit if the defense doesn't get their act together. It starts with the DC who right now should be on the chopping block.

38 yards once the Lions were up 21 points. Brutal. Some is play calling but a lot of it is a lack of character to handle a great lead and then deal with the adversity that comes in EVERY game in EVERY sport where no matter what the score, your opponent gets 5 minutes or more of momentum. Good teams prepare for that. The Lions - not so much.

The radio call ins now will be brutal. Skulsky wondering if he needs another Guaranteed Win Night or rid themselves of some game day staffers as they must be to blame.

Same exact defence as last season. No pressure, give up easy yardage and can't make a stop on 2nd and long.

Washington was able to plead his case to Tedford. He must have used smoke and mirrors cause the game film doesn't lie.

The O-line has improved and there has been some creativity in the offensive play calling, but the defence still sucks.

6 pts in the last 44 mins, 27 yds passing in the 2nd half = TURKEY. We still would have lost tonight even if the officials hadn't brutally missed the Argo face mask on TJ Lee.

3rd & 3 gamble midway through Q3 = questionable when our offence had been sputtering since last score over 20 mins ago. And after we punted on 3rd & 1 on our first series to open the game?

But hey, Andrew Harris thanks all 20,085 for hanging in until the end. Lowest BCP attendance since Aug 2002. And two Thursday games up next on the home sked.

Missed a golden opportunity to pull even in wins with Cgy after Ott beat them in OT earlier tonight.
Sports can be a peculiar thing. When partaking in fiction, like a book or movie, we adopt a "Willing Suspension of Disbelief" for enjoyment's sake. There's a similar force at work in sports: "Willing Suspension of Rationality". If you doubt this, listen to any conversation between rival team fans. You even see it among fans of the same team. Fans argue over who's the better QB or goalie, and selectively cite stats that support their views while ignoring those that don't.

If you think there were just over 20K in attendance tonight, you're smoking some good stuff I'd like some of. I was told by someone who knows that there were 20K SOLD for the game prior to it, and there weren't more than 17/18K in seats tonight.

Missed opportunity in the standings, and with the fan base/supporters. This is going to sting the Club on a few levels.

Blowing a 21 point lead is inexcusable. Period. Lions could do no wrong in the 1st quarter and then the offence went into neutral for the rest of the game. I can understand Tedford's decision to gamble on 3rd and 3 to try to generate some momentum but it's still the wrong decision. Lulay was continually overthrowing his receivers. Is it an issue of familiarity with his receivers ?
