Nice interview with Jeff Tedford. He resonates with character. Kind of like Wally in that respect. Tedford would be near the top as an Xs and Os coach, IMO.

Good to hear his health concerns were caught early and addressed. As he notes, there is a lot of pressure and hard work as a football coach. Gotta watch the signals of good health.

Tedford's comments re the Stampeders game ...

The game solidified what was in our mind about the players.

We played a lot of young guys, many vets stayed home.

Re Partridge ... We are going with the more athletic QBs.

Re Vizzi ... He did a nice job, has awesome hands.

We ran a basic game plan vs Stampeders, not much strategizing.

It was an evaluation game.

We will play a lot more of the vets this game vs Edmonton. They do a lot on defence, so we will prepare for that.

Re Lulay ... It has been a patient process, and that will continue ... either he can game prep or he can't ... it is up to how he responds in practice.

Re Jennings ... what we expected. He is well prepared, an accurate passer.

I did notice a few more blitz packages being used by the Lions for a pre-season game than what you would expect. IIRC most teams limit the blitzing in the pre-season games, at least in the past they have.

The good thing about the Stamps game is it allowed Tedford to make some easy cuts.

Yes.

And re the blitzes, Ramrod Jones in Edmonton loads it up even in preseason, as mentioned casually by Tedford. I don't expect a handshake post game. LOL
