Probably because the owner Robert Kraft and Tom Brady are friends with Donald Trump
And Belicheck is quite the Trumpian Boot-Licker***...see how black his tongue was during the post-game interviews? :thdn:

BTW we turned over to TSN a couple of hours after the game ended looking for the curling skins game and they were STILL yacking about the game. Jesus, Mary and Joseph but when does it end?!?!?!?!

Sorry but for this sports fan, NFL coverage is the epitome of beating a dead horse.

Edit: I did write I am not a follower of the NFL and I proved it; I spelt Belichick (not Belicheck) wrong! Take my vent with a grain of salt.

Their overtime still sucks. You only have to look at our last Grey Cup for a fair an equal way to settle the score. Each team gets a turn regardless of a coinflip. BB

but starting at the 35 is as stupid as the NFL way.

Should either start each possession at midfield, or kick off from 25

Concur. You're much guarantee a field goal starting from the 35 yard line.

I watched the game at a friend's house (he's also a neutral casual NFL fan). We were entertained mainly by how NE were able to pull it together after 3 quarters of sucking, then it was ATL's turn to suck in the last quarter. I was saying "maybe Brady can make a game of it" and comparing it to how SEA imploded 2 years ago.

When it got to OT, we were both in disbelief that it was a "sudden death first TD wins" scenario. After witnessing the excellent OT in the Grey Cup, this was, quite frankly, a joke. This being the first OT in 51 Super Bowls, you have to wonder if they will tinker with future OT playoff rules. (Apparently there was a modification made in 2012, before that even a FG was enough for a first series sudden death OT win).

Just another thing to make us happy to be CFL fans.

I'd say guarantee is definitely an overstatement as too many times there's great defensive plays and bad offensive plays that drive the team out of field goal range. Just look at the Falcons when they were clinging on to an 8-point lead and were threatening to at least get a field goal, yet soon were driven out of field goal range. And in the second overtime of the 2005 Grey Cup, Eskimos had taken a 3-point lead and the Alouettes could have at least matched that with a field goal of their own. But two great defensive plays by the Eskimos defense resulting in an illegal forward pass and then a sack put the Alouettes out of field goal range.

Gotta be. Those little rats. Yup. They deflated the balls all on their own. And now they steal Brady's jersey. Dayum ... LOL

I think it was Trump. Now that he can't use his charity to buy himself football memorabilia like Tim Tebow's helmet, he has resorted to having stuff lifted. Either that or Brady simply gave it to him and is too embarrassed to admit it....

Some departures from the Falcons' coaching staff. OC Kyle Shanahan goes to the 49ers as their new HC. That was known about well before the SB game. But several of his offensive assistants have followed him to San Francisco. And now the team has fired their DC, Richard Smith, along with their defensive line coach, Bryan Cox. I guess giving up those 25 points in the last quarter and a half of SB LI sealed their fate.

I imagine it shouldn't be that hard to find the culprit given the number of cameras in the dressing room.
