Might as well start this thread, as I will no doubt be watching at least part of the game. And it just might be a good one.

LI. That's 51. LOL

I like both teams. Patriots and Falcons.
.....

It seem to me that the Patriots pretty much start and end with Belichick and Brady. Amazing combo.

Belichick is horrible in his press conferences. Crabby. No humour. No information. Dry as dust. But he plans like no other coach I recall. Great, effective, creative detail in all aspects.

Surprising personnel choices. He comes up with receivers such as Edelman, Hogan and Amendola. :dizzy: Virtual unknowns, but hugely effective.

Edelman. 7th round pick. 5'10'' 200

Amendola. Undrafted. 5'11'' 190

Hogan. Undrafted. Lacrosse player. 6'1'' 220.

Can these guys play? Oh yeah.

Belichick and his staff look deeply into game planning. Fresh for each opponent. They find things to attack.

Personnel. Game planning.

Not only that, but it seems his teams are pretty much always well motivated, with behaviour and attitudes focused on game performance.

Brady's record and achievements are pretty much at the top, all time. Not highly rated in the draft. Not athletic, in the usual sense of football athleticism. This football fan has admired many QBs over the years, but Brady might be the best of them all. IMO.
.....

Dan Quinn with the Falcons seems like a very, very capable head coach.

QB Matt Ryan seems top notch. (Quinn and Ryan, the Irish Connection)

Receiver Julio Jones is top notch. One of the best ever. A contender for best ever, in terms of talent, at least. 6'3'' 220, 4.39 in the 40. OUCH. Great hands. Great run after catch. Wow. Just 28. Drafted in round 1, #6 pick.
Jones was selected to his third consecutive and fourth career Pro Bowl and was named First-team All-Pro for the second consecutive year.[55] -- Wik
6 years as a pro. In view of his amazing talent, it seems to me he has been somewhat unheralded so far. Unheralded All Pro? I think so. LOL Deserving of more, and it will come. IMO.

Solid running game.
.....

Looking forward to the game.

Jones goes for 73 yards, grinds up frenzied Packer defenders.

Amazing. Incredible. Scary.

Aaron Rodgers on the bench raises his hands in frustration. Whaddayagonna do on offence, when the defence cannot stop Jones, nor the Falcons' offence?
...........

Like they used to say about Dominique Wilkins in the NBA, Jones is a Human Highlight Film.

I chuckle at your comment about Belichek and press conferences. I've noticed the same thing. He always has the same dour look like he'd rather have someone shoving bamboo strips up under his fingernails than standing there answering questions. And he just drones on in that monotone voice. I did see a clip of Brady at the podium the other day. He actually lit up and smiled some. Many times when he's in front of the media I swear Belichek is in behind him making like Jeff Dunham because he tends to answer in the same droning monotone expressionless manner as Belichek does.

LOL. Yeah, very true about Belichick's lack of charm!

Still, I don't really blame him for this, given the asinine questions that sports reporters often throw at coaches and players. Example: receiver goes for 70-yard TD, and the reporter asks, "How did it feel to score the TD?"

The game looks as if it might come down primarily to the Falcons' superb offense against the Patriots' fine defense. Of course, this is ignoring Tom Brady and a very good Patriots offense. I think the question will be whether or not Dan Quinn has coached up his D to stop the Patriots attack. The Falcons D has steadily improved since Quinn got to Atlanta two years ago, modeled somewhat after the Seahawks defense that he helped build.

Let's hope it's an exciting game--two really excellent teams.

21-0 Falcons. Late interception for a TD just like Super Bowl 48.

21-3 at the half. Can Brady rally the Pats in the 2nd half ?

Ryan, Jones, Freeman. Too much to handle for the Patriots, or any other team.

No big game nerves for the Falcons. Amazing. Credit to Quinn and his staff.

Jones looks like All Time All Pro.

Brady and the Patriots move the ball, but come up short. Turnovers.

TOP Patriots 19:35, Falcons 10:25

Falcons defensive intensity is impressive, as is the offensive efficiency.
