Might as well get this thing started.

Some compelling story lines.

DeflateGate. Some care. The media cares. This fan is not all that concerned about it. Get some better protocols in place.

Two quarterbacks with amazing records in their early years in the NFL. Brady is a lock for the Hall of Fame. Wilson will be too, if he carries on as he has for a few more years.

Interesting coaches. Far from in the box thinkers. Belichick and Carroll. Both coaches have shown tremendous ability to have their teams primed to play well, strategically, but also as individual players. Very rare.

Both coaches, with their staffs, find gems overlooked or underrated by other teams. Brady and Wilson, for example. Guys throughout their rosters that produce big time. Players who do not fit with "in the box" evaluations (at the time). Gronkowski. Who uses tight ends? Well, the Patriots started to. Seattle does. Trick plays. Attack philosophy on O and D. Gotta luv it. They take it to the max.

Thoroughly prepared defences.

Great running games. Ferocious running backs in Blount and Lynch. Great blocking also.

Interesting matchup and contrasts with the QB styles. Classic drop back guy in Brady. Classic scrambler type in Wilson. Both supremely effective. Loaded with intangibles.

Both teams make adjustments during games. Both teams find creative ways to alter their game plans for each opponent.

Looking forward to a very good game.

The Patriots seem to have the edge in experience and motivation, especially with a desire to make a statement to critics who accused them of cheating. I think they'll come out with a chip on their shoulders. The Seahawks are banged up. Thomas, Chancellor and Sherman may not all make it through the game, and they're the keys to the Seattle defence. I'm pulling for the Seahawks, especially the Canadian duo of Luke Willson and Jon Ryan, but I don' think they can expect another miracle comeback this time. And I wouldn't mind seeing someone shut the arrogant mouth of Marshawn Lynch.

How can Lynch be arrogant if he doesn't say anything ?

Defense wins championships and this game will be no different. Thomas, Chancellor and Sherman have had two full weeks to heal since the Packers game. This defence along with special teams is the main reason Seattle won last seasons Supper Bowl, and being considered the underdogs in this one, means all the pressure is on the Patriots who are already distracted by the media and angry fans who have turned against them, real or imagined.

The Patriot defence will use up all their focus and resources spying, and stacking the box in expectation that the beast will run into the teeth of the defence, this is what the Seahawks are counting on, and will give them that initial look to bait them, but will run counters, pitch outs and misdirection, to confuse New England afterward.

Play action advantage to the Seattle will open up the underneath passing game, with shallow routs and screens play leaving Marshawn Lynch free to inflict a can of whupass open field running, and ultimate mayhem in the Pats defensive backfield.

With the focus on Lynch there also opens the threat of a mobile Russell Wilson and the option of pass or run himself, when the salutation arises, and / or go the deep ball to spread the New England defense wide and deep.

It is no secret that getting penetration on Brady early and often, hurries under pressure, blocked passes, and ultimately slacks, will cause his less mobile tendencies as a pivot, to decrease his chances of successful completions, while increasing his chances of interceptions and fumbles.

The other half of the Seahawk’s equation to success will be a stifling defensive effort to neutralize Rob Gronkowski at tight end, who (under other circumstances) one might imagine his impact, being pressed into service as a fullback in red zone situations.

As with any football game control of the clock, forcing your opponent to defend on a shortened field, keeping their offence on the sidelines, and mistake free football are all factors that will give or take away the all important momentum to victory.

Looking forward to this one…

Really? Would you like the Lions to try that? Good luck selling tickets if they start crap like that. Fortunately for Lynch, his team doesn't have to worry about selling tickets.

Earlier today - Boston Celtics fall to the Miami Heat 83-75. A prelude to the city of Boston today?
Nevertheless though, despite the fact that the Celtics are totally overshadowed today and the city is recovering from a blizzard and snowstorm, a large 17,366 attended the game at the TD Garden.

Now tied 7-7. If the Seahawks are going to win this they better control Tom Brady much better while Russell Wilson better get his rhythm better. Definitely not a repeat of last year and the Seahawks better do a much better job in the second half on both defence and offence. :cr:

What a gutsy call by Pete Carroll to go for the touchdown with 6 seconds to go in the first half.
