Re: Leos/Bombers West Semi-Final

[quote="Robbie McCallum has shored up the kicking game with Paul going 6/6 on his attempts including PATs for 14 total points. He has never missed a field goal in the playoffs for BC and that could be a big factor this weekend. Well if you count the all important 2011 Grey Cup game, McCallum w...

Re: Lions injury updates

Johnson #24 should be back, he looked fine in the second half of the Rider game.

I don't recall seeing Gaitor back on the field, however some of the shots on the jumbotron showed him walking around on the sideline.

Re: Riders at Lions Nov. 5 postgame comments

I was surprised to see JJ24 return to game action after the injury partly because I thought Rainey and Lumbala could get the job done along with 5 or 6 receiver sets. When JJ24 did return I didn't notice any limping by him on the few shots we got on TV. Anyone at the game notice if JJ24 was limping...

Re: Leos/Bombers West Semi-Final

I really wouldn't be surprised to see the Lions win this one. Both regular season losses to Winnipeg were close, with turnovers and missed field goals being the difference. To put it simply the Bombers didn't beat the Lions, the Lions beat themselves. Jennings has been smarter and more careful with ...

Re: The End of Jim Popp in Montreal

No surprise here, the Al's record over the last 3 years is all on him. He had some good years but he reached his expiry date.
The question now is where he will end up next? Whether or not he gets another job in the CFL, maybe Toronto?

Re: Leos/Riders Post Game Thoughts

A good win, but really should have been a blowout. With regards to Leone, I know kickers are often very superstitious, and don't like to break their routine. That being said, I notice that whenever Leone kicks a field goal he sets up 8 yards behind the line of scrimmage. In my experience playing, an...

Re: Leos Prepare for Riders

Should be a good game, the Riders are a better team then the one we beat early in the season. With the passing of Vic Rapp, and being the final game at Taylor Field, it should be an emotional game for both sides.

Re: CFL under fire for blown call....

That article is a wily CFL veteran at work. Coaching 101. Focus internally on the team and what it needs to do to be better and not let outside forces (be it referee's decisions, opposition cheap shots, fan involvement, inclement weather etc) dictate. He realizes that to make an issue of the Comman...

Re: Right side of Oline

Mike Beamish wrote a nice piece on Hunter Steward's return to the starting lineup, with comments from Steward, Wally, Dorazio and Mic'hael Brooks. Steward seems to have taken the right approach to his benching. I found his comments about the complexity of playing guard rather than tackle particular...

Re: Leos Prepare for Home Game Against Als

Now they are saying that Yell is likely gone for the season. Yikes. I had read that he may be out for up to 6 weeks, so I took that to mean 5 games (with the bye week). I didn't know that he's likely done for the year. That really hurts our chances. :bawl: This really underscores the importance of ...

Re: 2016 CFL Thread

Claiming handfighting as an excuse for PI is such a crock . Of course Suitor likes to make such a case being a former Rider DB and now something of a Rider homer commentator . So he has many people believing that nonsense . It is only handfighting in the mind of the DB , I'm sure the receiver has a...

Re: NFL Cuts

If Boyko does indeed decide to come up here, is there any possibility that Steward could be bumped out to left tackle while Jovan moves back to right? If not this year maybe next year. That would give us a pretty solid line with Steward, Boyko, Husband, Vaillencourt, and Jovan.

Re: Khalif Mitchell signed to Rider PR

Chris Jones has a proven body of work as a defensive coordinator in the CFL with three different teams. He won a Grey Cup, as a defensive coordnator with all three of those teams. He's coached for 14 years in the CFL and been in 7 Grey Cup games. Those results speak for themselves. Jones took a 4-1...

Re: Leos/Argos Post Game Thoughts

Good to get the win in a tight defensive game against a Stubler defence. Jennings was solid again, but as mentioned earlier, sometimes he tries to do too much. There are times when the best thing you can do is swallow the ball and take the sack. Offensive line was not good at all. Husband's first ho...
