Re: Eskimos Release Lumsden - Canwest News
Nice TSN interview with Jesse Lumsden. He is a fine, young athlete who I know now a bit more about - a real credit and reflection of his dad. He says that his surgeon has not yet cleared him for the hits on the shoulder. He has nothing but positive comments both personally and professionally and the...

Re: Reported trade..........
Check out Duane Ford on TSN who says the Lions did the trade to get their coveted receiver who is apparently going to sign in the NFL. Brilliant move for TO if true.

Re: dunnigan in crescent city
Great story about a great person and football player.
Mightybuck and his family should get featured.

Re: CFLPA bargaining proposals
When the long departed Grizzlies were in Vancouver, I discovered what it was like having a bunch of foreign mercenaries playing for the home town team. There was little or no connection with the community. They complained that they could not find the kind of food they wanted, for god's sake (in a t...

Re: Bombers sign Buck Pierce
Bomber head coach LaPolice said he "will also be teaching his QBs to avoid major collisions on the gridiron." “All quarterbacks have to know when to slide and when to protect themselves,” he said. “Just because the game’s so much faster. We’ll teach every one of our guys about that proces...

Re: Bombers expected to offer contract to Buck within 48 hrs
I find it incredible that so many fans are obsessed with salaries and contracts. (other than length of term which has a direct impact on the fan) I'm a fan of the game, the team, the outcomes and scores. To get into someone's personal money matters has no effect on my enjoyment of the above. It's b...

Re: Bombers expected to offer contract to Buck within 48 hrs
Actually MB, this is not that unrealistic when you get an executive committee discussing who should be your senior people. It can be downright catty as each one backs their own favorites. You are right though none of us know what is being asked or offered or if it is the player not actually really w...

Re: Official Masters Golf 2010 - Day 1 - Fred Couples leading
I thought the Nike commercial featuring Tiger's deceased dad speaking was bizarre at best and disgusting at worst. The best ad might have been the spot on lecture that the head of Augusta delivered that suggests Tiger might treat others better including just smile at a young fan! His words were terr...

Re: The SMS 4 years later....has it been good for the CFL?
While I agree with the need for an SMS of some sort, I do think the unintended (I hope) consequences of too much player turnover, early retirements due more to contract size than performance are not helping the league. David may not have the solution but he has identified a problem that has the pote...

Re: CFLPA bargaining proposals
"It was speculated last season the league wanted to reduce to four from seven the number of Canadian-born players that must start on a 42-man roster, composed of 22 Americans and 20 non-imports, the rationale being that teams can find Americans more cheaply." If owners want to improve thei...

Re: Bombers expected to offer contract to Buck within 48 hrs
Good for Buck if he lands a decent contract with the Bombers. I am not sure they have the best leadership any longer and not sure of the new HC based on a couple of his early statements. Winnipeg is sure no longer the bastion of good management as it once was based on some very strange decisions in ...

Re: Bombers expected to offer contract to Buck within 48 hrs
"Sure, I have a passion and a love for the game and I can't change the way I play, but I'm also a smart guy and I'm not going to take unnecessary risk," Buck said. Not quite the quote I would like to hear. Not if "the way I play" means running downfield with no intention of slid...

Re: Bombers expected to offer contract to Buck within 48 hrs
TSN's Farhan Lalji interviewed Buck at the California tryout. Buck said it was his shoulder, not his head, that kept him out of action at the end of last season, but he is healthy and has a lot to prove. He was clearly focused on landing an NFL job. He said with his pro experience, it would be a go...

Re: Bombers expected to offer contract to Buck within 48 hrs
I'm with you guys too on this. Als would be a great fit for Buck and he would Anthony and Trestman to tell him how he must play and avoid the hits! Not sure he has yet understood the change in the way the game is played at the pro level by those who enter the Hall of Fame - they are not only great a...

Re: BC Lions sign RB Jamal Robertson
Lowell's blog says Wally had him in Calgary in 2001 and prior to free agency back then said he was passing on the guy. What is a bit odd is that he is quite a lot older in RB years than Antonio Warren and Joe Who Smith when they got dumped. Maybe he is here to fill a TC roster spot to push new guys ...
