Re: Riders 33- Lions 30 OT Post Game Stats and Comments
... we should have done a better job of mixing up the plays instead of all those passing plays in OT. We should have given the Riders a steady diet of screen passes to mitigate the blitz. DH Yep. Screen plays must be on Wally's "Trash Can" list. Along with draws, QB draws, Look-in passes,...

Re: Riders 33 - Lions 30 OT Post Game Stats and Comments
Some postgame quotes from Mike Beamish's article: “The mindset is to allow my guys to make plays,” Printers explained. “I saw Geroy matched up against the defensive player [cornerback Omarr Morgan]. I just threw it up hoping to give him a chance. I didn’t see No. 14 [Patrick] at all. I thought Gero...

Re: So who starts on the 31st
Well, that question was going to get asked eventually, Bob. Now is as good a time as any.
Casey is healthy. He played great in this game. IMO he gets the start. I would suspect Wally will go that way.
Buck is nowhere near 100%. Jarious is not either. Travis is a rookie, who is also injured.

Re: Riders 33- Lions 30 OT Post Game Stats and Comments
We know if you go into Regina, getting a victory is like stealing the Crown Jewels. And if you win, you better get onto the bus dayum fast. IMO we didn't exaclty play well in all phases of the game. Casey shot lights out. He gave us a chance. We almost stole the win. Then we turned into swiss cheese...

Re: An Exciting Game-A Heart Breaking Loss
Preliminary judgment: I would say we were outcoached. Casey kept us in the game. The Riders had some creativity in their O. QB runs, underhand pass, nice isolation for Bagg on Toney, great schemes on run defence, nice blitz timing. Our run attack was vanilla. Our preparation for the blitz seemed non...

Re: Riders 33- Lions 30 OT Post Game Stats and Comments
Darren Toney sure made Rob Bagg look All-Pro on those 2 long passes. When will Wally take a critical look at his completely ineffective short yardage "package." I use the term short yardage with derision. We dont' have a package. On Casey's effort 2 unblocked Riders had clean shots at him....

Re: Riders 33- Lions 30 OT Post Game Stats and Comments
I see 13 penalties to B.C. and 5 to the Riders. I see a phantom procedure call on Jimenez. I see Geroy held and pushed with the ball in the air. I see Geroy screened by a defender who has his back to the ball while his partner picks off the Int at the end. I sure get the impression it is some home c...

Re: Retractable Roof approved at Half a Billion dollars
Dave, I wasn't aware that you've been in East Van since the Lions last left Empire Stadium. :roar: Often enough to discover my Beamer had been vandalized when I returned from the Lions community practice last month. $300 deductible. :bang: Oh, did I mention that's the last time I was there? ...

Game Day Thread - Lions at Riders, October 24, 2009
I am looking forward to this game. Should be a good one. IMO the Lions are very well prepared. We have 2 very capable running backs. Our O Line has blocked well for them. Casey and the receivers could have a very good game. Our run defence has greatly solidified. Paul McCallum knows how to kick in t...

Yes, of course he does.TheLionKing wrote:Does Brett Anderson play quarterback ?
Bret is also the backup trainer.
And Giulio has his name back on the quarterback depth chart as well.

Re: Lions 7 pt Underdogs
Given our current plight at the QB position and that it is the third road game in a row, the line seems to be flattering. Hope the Lions can serve up another CFL special and outright win this game. Yup. We are in trouble. That 7 point line flatters us. Hee hee Ha ha I never felt so good being an un...

Re: Stephen Williams Brings an Edge to Lions - Lowell Ullrich
If you get a chance to, listen to BMac and Rintoul on TEAM 1040 at the 8:30 mark, Williams gives an interview. I have to say, he is another in the long line of great interviews by Lion players, prejudice aside. What were some of the main points made in the interview, Rammer? I will see you at pract...
