Re: West Final: Lions at Bombers

I am happier with Moore activated. Thought he played well against the Stamps and had good pursuit on Maier. A bit more size inside. Siddiqi has taken penalties at some woefully inopportune times lately.

Also, no Winston Rose for the Bombers.

Re: Leos/Stamps Post Game Thoughts

One thing that is of concern is injuries to NATs. Chances of Jack Hinsperger playing after that hellacious collision with Logan can't be good. Hinsperger has been playing well in special teams coverage. If both he and Hladik can't suit up that's 2 NAT LBs out with limited options on who to suit up....

Re: Leos/Stamps Post Game Thoughts

Sorry, but I can't see Hladik playing. He emerged (in street clothes) from the locker room in the 2nd half with a noticeable limp. Very noticeable. One week is not enough to overcome that, even if it's just a contusion. And anything less than full mobility is going to handicap our linebacking corps....

Re: Lions vs Calgary West Semi - Keys to the Game

Is there a correlation between our "all-black" uniforms and the number of penalties we take? It may sound like an old wives' tale but there have been numerous studies conducted which suggest here that teams wearing black uniforms DO get penalized more often. It's the colour of aggression a...

Re: WSF: Lions vs. Stamps

Keys to the game: * It's essential that our Leos get off to a fast start, jump out to a lead, and dictate the game plan. If we can manage to go up by say, 10-14 points (in an ideal world), it will force the Stamps to rely more on Maier's arm, which is what we want. * Will Calgary try to confuse VA ...

Re: Teuhema Suspended for One Game

It was stupid and selfish on his part. Now he has hurt the team, organization, and fan base. I hope he takes his punishment like a man and doesn't make a joke out of the process by appealing so he can play the game. Stupid and selfish? Quite frankly, I am not sure how I would react in the heat of t...

Re: Anybody buy this year's replica jerseys?

I bought the Fog Grey VA jersey earlier this year. Am happy with the purchase. Quality is not game-worn but numbers are stitched on so I am satisfied. If you look at Crazy P's (home) jersey up close (those that go to games), it is a true player replica. Quality thickness and stitching, snug fit etc....

Re: Lions vs. Stamps Oct. 20, 2023

* It pains me to say this but we are the Detroit Lions of the CFL. People say we're good, the record reflects it, yet I'm not quite sold. Some teams (a growing list) just come along and expose all our warts. * Bottom line, I don't care what's on the line. All or nothing. But the good teams don't get...

Re: Lions vs. Stamps Oct. 20, 2023

My key questions for this match-up are: * Can we match Calgary's intensity? Their playoff lives are on the line while we are more-or-less ensconced in 2nd place (yea, I know there is a mathematical possibility for first place. But I also don't buy lotto tickets for the very same reason). * We know o...

Re: The Last Two Games - What to do?

With a bye week after Friday, I can perhaps see how the staff wouldn't want VA to be too rusty going into the West Semi (or even more unlikely, the West Final), so to play him for a quarter or so seems reasonable. But to trot him out for an entire game given how he could barely put any weight on his...

Re: Lions at Ticats Oct. 13, 2023

The Good: * The club's overall resiliency. Could have folded like a cheap tent after that demoralizing loss to the Bombers, only to have to travel East and play in Tim Hortons Field - not the kindest ballpark to our Leos over the years - and not really a lot on the line. Probably a lot of tight sph...

Re: The Last Two Games - What to do?

I would love to see another RB get a chance over Mizzell just to see if it adds a spark to the running game. How about a 225-pound JaQuan Hardy who they brought back last week? Looks like we're about to find out, SammyGreene. Mizzell did not practice today (ribs). Worth watching in the next couple ...

Re: Bombers-Lions: The Showdown

Since all signs point toward this "Gravy Bowl" now becoming a B.C. vs Winnipeg annual event at B.C. Place, I am wondering if the club should consider putting this game on a specific day on the Thanksgiving Day long weekend. My preference would be to play it here at 4:00pm or 5:00pm on Sund...

Re: Bombers-Lions: The Showdown

Was no one motioning on the sidelines to GO DOWN!? The play took place on the Lions' side of the field after all. Hell, if I were Campbell, I would be falling to the ground to show him! The whole building could see that he wouldn't make it to the endzone without being tackled given there were only 8...
