Re: Lions Are Harder to Read Than Tolstoy
The Lions probably blitzed against Hamilton more than against any other opponent. Banks, Shell, Bighill and LaRose were all in the offensive backfield at various times. Burris was confused and hurried and didn't get a first down until 19 minutes in. He said afterwards that it took a while to figure ...

Re: One Division
No. Crossover playoff games have no tradition and no fan appeal. How many B.C. fans went to Montreal and Toronto for ESF games when the Lions were involved? How many would show up for a home playoff game against Hamilton, Montreal or Toronto in a one-division league? A playoff matchup with Saskatche...

Re: Kavis Reed's Emotional Pre and Post Game Comments
It's hard for an organization to be more dysfunctional than the Bombers but the Esks have achieved their 1-8 record with much more on-field talent. Their main problem is management and coaching.

Re: Eagles release Danny Watkins
There are reports that Watkins is close to signing in Miami. Wally isn't expecting to see him before next year at the earliest, according to LU.

Re: CFL Unwise Comment of the Week - Week 10
Burke has hung on far too long for anyone's good. He takes no responsibility for anything or anyone and is just happy to cash a paycheque. He was a far better DC than the guy he has working for him but he does little to help and instead criticizes the players every time they're exposed.

Re: Kavis Reed's Emotional Post Game Comments
http://video.tsn.ca/?dl=cfl-latest/latest/1/0/995191/clip/727 Toppy mentioned this rant on the CFL Week thread. Seems like Kavis still thinks he is a good orator. I agree with Toppy in that Hufnagel keeps it short and sweet. Two or three ideas, max. I've done a few hundred pre game speeches in vari...

Re: CFL Week of August 30 - Sept 3, 2013 Odds, Previews, Res
Going into this week, the Riders as a team had gone 8 games without an interception, tying a record set by the Argos earlier ths year (the Argos’ dated back to 2012). The CFL hasn't traditionally kept records for individual QBs but league statisticians often go back and check the database whenever s...

Re: Court Ruling, Chris Williams now considered a CFL free a
Given the NFL's history of NOT tripping over their feet to sign CFL stars it seems kinda odd that Williams was so eager to get out of his contract instead of playing out his option and trying out for the NFL for 2014 unless he has some secret deal in his pocket or more likely a verbal commitment or...

Re: Lions 29 - TiCats 26 Post Game Stats and Comments
The Lions also were 3 for 3 in the red zone, improving to 17 touchdowns on 28 opportunities this year (60.7%), which would be tops among western teams pending the rest of this week's games.

Re: Lions 29 - TiCats 26 Post Game Stats and Comments
Further to Blitz's comments about the running game, I looked at the stats and the Lions are runing the ball as much as they were last year but they are less efficient at it. After 9 games, Harris has more carries and slightly more yards than he did at the same point last year but Lulay and others ar...

Re: Eagles release Danny Watkins
The Lions still own Watkins' rights, but the bigger question seems to be, Does Watkins still want to play football? According to Tyler Bieber of CFLDaily.ca, Watkins may just want out. Update: Danny Watkins – An interesting story developing as CSN Philadelphia’s Rueben Frank reports that he believes...

Re: Lions 29 - TiCats 26 Post Game Stats and Comments
That was just what the doctor ordered. Lulay threw the intermediate and deep ball better than he has all season. He had three drops and missed Taylor wide open but I liked the new wrinkes, even through the rollouts didn't work most of the time. The Lions left some points on the board but it was main...

Re: Leos/Tabbies Keys to the Game
The conditions are ripe for a high-scoring, offensive battle tonight. I hope it happens, for the sake of the player and coaches, and for the fans. Conditions were ripe last week against the Als who were missing some key players from the lineup. We all know what happened Yes, but the Als were missin...

Re: Leos/Tabbies Keys to the Game
I find myself almost alone in the viewpoint that Lulay is as much of the problem or even more than Chapdelaine. I also find myself in this uncomfortable, strange feeling situation of almost defending Chapdelaine, when I was probably known on this board for so many seasons as his greatest detractor....
