Re: Quality of the CFL season
I'm really against any form of dictating where NI's have to play. Teams will field their best 7 NI starters and often even then, those palyers are not good enough. Trying to " force " teams to play NI's either on offense or defense dilutes that task even further. What's next? Saying a NI m...

Re: Quality of the CFL season
The CFL needs to step in and artificially create offense moving forward. 1) They need to create a rule to have a minimum 3 Canadian starters on defense. Or at least a gradual increase from 2 next year up to 3 in 2016. 2) As long as DB's are allowed to MAUL RECEIVERS by grabbing, clutching, and hold...

Re: Travis Lulay? Have we seen his last game?
Even if Lulay ONLY dislocated his shoulder that is not a good thing after previous injuries and surgery. At this point his health becomes a risk to him and the team in a similar way as with Pierce. In that the risk of on going injuries becomes a financial risk and continuity issue for the team. Cons...

Re: Thomas DeMarco done for 2014.....
Most unfortunate. I wish him a speedy recovery. While he may not have been the starting QB in 2014, he may have been the planned starter for 2015. Burris was a stop gap idea IMO to give the RB's some credibility. Unless they turn around their season and do well in the playoffs, I'm not sure Burris w...

Re: Robin Williams Dead
A sad situation when an individual feels the need for that resolution. Very unfortunate that he wasn't able to get the help he needed in his lifetime.
He was a great talent and he'll be missed.

Re: Westerman charged re: alleged nightclub incident
Did Westerman even play yesterday? The stats don't show him making a tackle and I don't recall seeing him out there?
If he didn't play that leads more credence to the fact he's in the real dog house and may be about to be traded?

Re: Higgins calls out Chad Johnson
It'a a paradox. He has to look very good to have any chance at a return to the NFL but at his age it's very unlikely. Not only did the Als give him an under the table out with a 1 year deal? If he plays well, why would they want to release him. If he doesn't start producing soon why would they keep ...

Re: Westerman charged re: alleged nightclub incident
He wasn't suspended. He was moved to the 2 man reserve with full pay. I don't know if the 4:00 am was valid or just a rhetorical comment. Every player is a representative of the organization and he got his name in the paper in a bad context. It's not relavant whether he is quilty of the " punch...

Re: Westerman charged re: alleged nightclub incident
In my view, formal legal culpability is irrelevant. It's a character and PR issue between an employer and employee. If I'm the employer in this situation, he's fired. I'm fairly certain you would then have to contend with a wrongful dismissal lawsuit......in order to fire someone, you REQUIRE proof...

Re: Westerman charged re: alleged nightclub incident
The incident occurred after the first home game, June 29th, so he's played 4 games since then. I don't agree with punishing players for "alleged" misconduct......in a country where innocent until PROVEN guilty is supposed to be the accepted norm, this practise of "guilty by pointed f...

Re: All things Lions Marketing/Promotions 2015
Lions are pricing themselves out of the market. Everyone now has large HD TV's to watch compared to just a few short seasons ago.
It's getting harder to justify ticket prices for many folks I suspect.

Always liked Garner and he seemed to be a low profile class guy on and off the screen. Rockford Files was one of my favourite shows of all time.

Re: CFL Games of the Week - July 17 to July 19
A very similar RP called on D Anderson on his hit on a vulnerable receiver with no chance to catch the ball.
BTW. How did the refs NOT call a RP on the 2nd to last play when Ottawa struck R Ray in the head?

Re: CFL Games of the Week - July 17 to July 19
I understand that Washington couldn't be certain but I watched the replay several times. Dunigan commented that it was RP then immediately switched to close call followed by the refs call that consistently. If Washington had been the 1st DB to make contact or if the receiver was touching the ball, I...

Re: CFL Games of the Week - July 17 to July 19
I need an opinion of a particular penalty that was called. Winnipeg ( Washington ) was called for RP on a hit on Stamps in the endzone where Winnipeg ( Johnson ) had knocked down the pass. Do you agree with the penalty call? Absolutely not.....the hit was with the shoulder to the chest area immedia...
