Johnson made an impression for all the wrong reason when he joined the Lions. He showed great speed on the special teams but he kept forgetting about giving 5 yards to punt returners. He kept getting flagged for incringement. He's much better now. Jamal was always good...he just needed to integrate...

I could never quite understand the difference between nickel and dime, and also have never understood the term "weak side." For instance, somebody mentioned yesterday that with the injuries suffered in the last couple of weeks that our entire weak side is out. I'd suggest you read some of...

Jamal Johnson has been a talent waiting for a long time for an opportunity! Not many players create a buzz among the players after a first practice like Jamal did when he joined our Leos later in the season a couple of years ago. I was a huge Carl Kidd fan but I thought Jamal was ready to start last...

I believe Markeith Knowlton could start on a lot of teams. As much as I like Knowlton, I worry about losing Banks for any period of time
Banks allows us to do things that other secondaries can't do!

Knowlton will likely become our nickel next season!

JJ is looking more like Casey Printers, and not just because of his wild scramble and first-down run in the Calgary game. A couple of examples are the way he looks to throw the deep ball whenever possible, even when shorter throws are available, and the way he slid from the pocket and found Rodgers...

Yes Smith has taken the rushing lead in the CFL, I would have never factored that into a Lions team with DD/BP and the receiving corps we have, but such is the cash with a D that can grab the ball for you. It's a significant change and perhaps the leading edge of a new direction for CFL offences!

Some interesting individual stats going into the Riders game: Ian Smart leads the league in combined yards and is the league's leading kickoff returner. Joe Smith is the league's second leading rusher and second in scoring touchdowns Jason Clermont is third in receiving. Ryan Phillips is second in t...

I will be bringing a limited supply of them to the game on August 2, and wanted to meet up with you prior to the game, perhaps at the lionbackers pre-game set up, to present you with one. It's a nice looking shirt that sports the "BC Wrecking Company" on a large wrecking ball on the front...

Most of us here I thin wondered why the rush to play Buck only to see him not able to finish another game. Granted he did enough to keep this game tied at the half and got another half of game action. His stats weren't bad in terms of completions when compared with Jarius Jackson's 3 for 7 but the ...

Have to admit I really don't focus that much on the announcers so I don't feel that I could offer a good "Siskel and Heibert' critique! Besides, critiquing announcers, isn't the most exciting topic...along with how many people attended the game or kissing your sister! However, I did notice in t...

Getting Ready For The Riders

It's a short week for our injury depleted Leos as we play the Riders at home on Thursday. Time to leave our big victory in Calgary behind and start geting ready for the Green Machine..and that's what they looked like in rolling up a huge victory over the toothless Eskimos! The Riders whupped the Evi...

Keys To Our Great Start This Season!

We're 5-0, won three big games on the road in Toronto, Saskatchewan, and Calgary, and had to use all three of our quarterbacks to do it. Here our some keys to our great start of '07 DEFENSE 1. REPACING WILSON/KIDD The biggest question mark going into this season was replacing Chris Wilson and Carl K...

Our entire defensive line played a fantastic game tonight, great work gentlemen Hunt had a very good game to join Johnson and Wake in elite company! Also props to our QBs for going out of their way to look for him tonight. Finally, props to Geroy himself for making some outstanding plays. The catch...

That said, our running game is going great guns (especially with the introduction of a 2 back set this game - which is new for us), but we also need to interject a pass attack. One large positive is that with JJ in there, he showed tonight the deep ball almost exclusively (sometimes to our detrimen...
