Re: Is Wally Staying around in 2018?

I hate to sound like a supreme pessimist, but if we lose to Ottawa, I think we're going to struggle to win another game, save for maybe the last one where Toronto will be resting some starters for the playoffs. I just think that if we go 6-8 and then walk into a hornet's nest at IGF (where Bombers w...

Re: CFL Games of Week 16, October 6 - 9

Great assessment WCJ. I think the order is bang-on. I wouldn't change anything. I just shake my head when I see that we are at #6 with all our talent (some might even argue for Ottawa to be there as they beat us in August). Such a wasted season thus far. But we are what our record states that we are...

Re: CFL Stadiums and Game Day Experiences

As a stadium, BC Place would have to ranked near the top. If the roof were truly retractable and not a small opening, arguably the best stadium in the land for its durability, scoreboard, and downtown location. However, as a CFL stadium, it is wanting. Way too large. Even with the sails and a lower ...

Re: Is Wally Staying around in 2018?

I'm not that optimistic. I predict lower attendance and lower TV numbers and more hard times to come for the league over the next decade. A few challenges off the top of my head: Lions need to re-build their brand. This will take time. Lions have been fairly successful for many years. A few losing ...

Re: Player transactions

Although it hasn't been officially announced (maybe contract not yet registered with the league or club is waiting until they return from the bye), but the Leos have signed a very good running back from Ohio State University by the name of Dontre Wilson. Looks like a very slippery back with good han...

Re: Is Wally Staying around in 2018?

Just to clarify maxlion, I wasn't considering Noel Thorpe for the vacant Head Coaching position in BC. I was suggesting that IF Mark Washington were to be promoted to HC, then bringing in Thorpe for the vacant defensive coordinator position would be an astute move. Montreal's defense has played at a...

Re: Is Wally Staying around in 2018?

As each day goes by, the value of the club decreases with declining attendance and public apathy running rampant. Braley needs to sell sooner than later to allow the new owners to put in a marketing plan etc. You're preaching to the choir here TheLionKing. There's hardly a poster on this board that...

Re: The decline of Vancouver sports media & its effect on Lions

Yea, Farhan mentioned the 2 best O-lines (in his opinion) are Winnipeg's and Saskatchewan's and they both play 3 imports. He didn't even mention Calgary who use 2 Internationals (1 usually but injuries have forced them to use 2). Anyway, the implication was that you can get better results going that...

Re: Is Wally Staying around in 2018?

Outside of this website and a couple of media types, there hasn't been a lot of calls for Braley to sell. It's not like he feels any pressure to sell; that's why I cringed when he said nothing is going to take place during the season (presumably to not be a distraction). Unless there have been signi...

Re: The decline of Vancouver sports media & its effect on Lions

I am surprised you guys don't listen to 3 Down Radio, Mondays from 7:00pm - 9:00pm on TSN1040 (some of you may listen, but it doesn't seem to get much traction on these boards). It's the most complete "all you can eat" Lions/CFL discussion around, and hosted by LU, Farhan, and Giulio. They bounced a...

Re: TiCats 24 - Lions 23, Post-Game Stats and Comments

....This time, instead of passing, Jennings ran an ultra-conservative quarterback draw, picking up just 3 yards and leading to Long's fifth field goal, which put the Lions ahead 23-21. I don't know who made the call but that would be the time to try to throw for a first down to extend the drive, ta...

Just a quick question guys, did Bryant Turner Jr. even dress for this one? What happened to him, he was supposed to be one of our top players this season. Another victim of the ratio?
Saw him at the game on the concourse.

His wife just gave birth, so he missed most of practice week.

Our defense has no mojo and keeps dropping picks and whiffing on sacks. Of course, this is one issue among many. Welcome back Mac! First Rammer now you. Wow, this is like the good old days. Where's LFITQ? Thanks for the great iso shots, WestCoastJoe. Everything nicely broken down. The fact t...

Re: Lions vs. Ticats Sept. 22, 2017

Come on Whitecaps. You are crazy. You're fans might get a little chilly. At least one BC Place Stadium tenant is making proper use of taxpayers' money. A metaphor for the two organizations really. One is open. Sees the bigger picture. Fan friendly. Willing to try new things, and sign new players to...
