Re: Lions 36 - Bombers 27, Post-Game Stats and Comments

Meh nothing to see here Lions beat a Bomber squad minus their starting QB/RB...meaningless contest Maybe so, but it was still the Lions' most complete game in months with a score that frankly, flattered the Bombers. Jennings looked decisive and confident (the '2016' model, if you will). The club ca...

Re: 1985 Lions win second Grey Cup

Wanted to make a correction on a post...my 1st cousin Karlton Watson QB # 6 for the BC Lions was killed by a shotgun blast from another car following him in Garden City Michigan near the Garden City police dept in January 1994...he was coming home from a pick up basketball game. Thanks for clarifyi...

Re: The decline of Vancouver sports media & its effect on Lions

Bob Lenarduzzi got featured in an interview segment on cbc radio's afternoon drive show the other day, ahead of the whitecaps playoff game. can't recall similar happening before any recent lions playoff game. that's the #1 rated station in town BTW. The Whitecaps are smart. They sent media down to ...

Media picks 2017-10-26_1156.png Hmmm. Interesting. Anyone else surprised that all but one pundit has picked the Esks over the Stamps?? I know Calgary played like crap against Saskatchewan last week, but I can't see a Dave Dickenson team laying two eggs in a row. I am betting on the bounce back. Bes...

Re: Lions ownership discussion thread

Yes. According to Matt Sekeres, but I have not had this story corroborated (I trust Matt as a source though as he was a former newspaper journalist and very well connected to the CFL beat that he covered for the G&M). Matt mentioned on-air maybe about 7-8 years ago now something about the 2009 Calga...

Re: Marco Iannuzzi to retire at the end of this season

Very under-rated returner, IMO. Gets up field in a hurry and has good wheels. Was a stand-out at Harvard. Never thought we adequately used his punt returning skills.

Re: Lions ownership discussion thread

Yes, Marco was on TSN1040 the other day and said that he would like to be part of the Lions community, "on the business side of things, not football ops." He said he is committed to staying here on the Lower Mainland even though he's from Calgary. He feels such a part of the community that people of...

Re: Eskimos 35 - Lions 29, Post-Game Stats and Comments

I understand your frustration B.C.FAN, but to me that's like asking Captain Smith why he didn't properly heed the iceberg warning and maneuver the Titanic around it. All has already been lost, and the soon to be departed coach will never admit blame. Why we've turned a natural gunslinger into a game...

Re: CFL Games of Week 19, October 27 - October 28, 2017

If ever there was a person in need of therapy sessions, it's Jason Maas. Everyone gets angry. It's natural. We all lose our cool at some point, either rationally or irrationally. But I haven't personally witnessed many public personalities completely melt down and throw temper tantrums with the fero...

Re: Eskimos 35 - Lions 29, Post-Game Stats and Comments

Guys, if you've been listening to the pre and post game shows these past few weeks, and even 3 Down Radio two and three weeks ago, they have not been holding back on the need to blow this operation up, top to bottom. Farhan Lalji is the best thing to happen to this club in terms of coverage. He is b...

Re: Season Ticket Renewal

Yes, two seats. Not thrilled our tickets are marginally increasing after such a monumentally disappointing season (they've got some set of cajones!) but will renew before 12/1 to get the $40 perks. But I rationalize it that we (Coach's Sideline season ticket holders) are funding the decreases in the...

Re: Eskimos 35 - Lions 29, Post-Game Stats and Comments

I agree B.C.FAN. The long time season ticket holders around me are fine people. Just not passionately invested. This doesn't make them worse fans, just a different type. My buddy and I are the vocal ones and provide a running commentary throughout on who the ball is going to, who's injured, match-up...

Re: Eskimos 35 - Lions 29, Post-Game Stats and Comments

Wally needs to retire. The fans know it, the media knows it and so do the players. If Wally and his coaching staff return for 2018, the fans won't. If major changes are not implemented in 2018 then it won't be long before there are so few fans in BC Place that at the start of the game instead of in...

Re: 2017 All Things Lions Marketing & Promotions

Back in 1995 they had kids priced season tickets. Kids season tickets were $1/game with the purchase of an adult season ticket. I agree with you. No excuse not to offer that deal for season ticketholders. Especially with how great the TSN TV deal is, right now is the time to drop ticket prices and ...

Re: Marco Iannuzzi to retire at the end of this season

Iannuzzi has been a great ambassador for the team, supporting charities and promoting the Lions throughout the community. I wish him well in his post-football career. The team is going to miss his leadership and tireless work in the community on behalf of the club. Arguably the most fan-friendly pl...
